Wrong Hole!

Hey Guys,
about two weeks ago I "thought" I lost my engine coolant plug which made my coolant drain out...Well, not so...I realized that I also had a slit in my TB lower coolant line and it sprayed all over the side of the engine block. Aparently that's where my coolant went...I saw this gaping hole on the drivers side of the block that made me immdiately think "I lost my coolant plug and all the coolant drained out!" not so...after ordering the coolant plug twice (actually three times if you include the radiator plug screwup) and noticed it' didn't fit I was like "What the Fuk!"...Anyway, I pulled the nut to the left of it just for fun and all the coolant runs out...So I thought it was the coolant plug but it wasn't...question:

What the hell is this hole immediately to the right of the coolant plug?

I just did an inspection and it didn't have any threads on the inside of it so maybe nothing goes there...but it sure is odd...Anyway, if someone can take a peek at theirs and see what's in that hole I'd appreciate it as always,

Thanks,
Me

LOL! You're right, nothing goes there.

I think this guy has the same question, but he thinks it's a sensor hole.

That hole is mentioned in the coolant flush section of Rob Robinette's site.
