Would a 4.77 gear and 8.5lb flywheel be too much?!?!

Might be gettign some parts for my FD, she's going to be a track queen on the weekends. I'm just wondering if you guys think a 4.77 gear matched with an 8.5lb flywheel would be a little ridiculous when accelerating?

First gear will go by quickly, that's for sure!

What kind of racing do you intend to use the car for? Road racing or drag racing?

The right gearing depends a lot on what your top speed is in each gear on the track. For instance, I hit redline in fourth gear on one track, and I'd rather not have to make the jump to fifth, so the stock rear end works fine for me. If you'll have to go into fifth, you might want to get a short fifth gear to go with the shorter rear end.

Light flywheels are great. You'll love it. It makes downshifting easier and also makes errors in rev matching less troublesome. The lighter the better, in my opinion.

I use my car for auto-x, and some strip use. I also drive it lightly on the street, but I only race from a highway pull.

I wasn't sure if this combo would get a little out of hand when accelerating out of corners, I know 1st gear will be pretty much useless.

Most of the tracks I have been too, drag strips or auto-x, I never redline 4th gear, it get's up to maybe 6500rpm, I figure with the 4.77 gear I would be much closer to redline and getting a little more boost from my turbos.
