wont start! why?

ok i did searching and this is where i am

the other day i started my car and left it to warm up for 10 min as usual because it is freaking like 10 degrees here... after about 5 min it shuts off so im like what the hell and i go outside. i try starting but the engine starts for like half a second and then dies.

and then it would just start for a split second and die. and then it just wouldnt start. it cranks but wont start. and then i tried pulling the relay and i tried using starting fluid and i tried pushing the gas pedal down. when i did the starting fluid AND gas pedal it started and the rpms went up very very slowly and as soon as i i lightened up on the gas it died.

so is it like a fuel pump problem maybe?

When was the last time your fuel filter was changed? It wouldn't hurt to try unflooding it, although that doesn't seem to be the case with your car. Hm. Try jumping her......batteries don't like cold weather......

sounds like my car when the leading coil went. Not sure why that would happen in your case though. Might also be fouled plugs (rich start up routine, slow warm-up).
When was the last time the plugs were changed and what heat range are you using? 7 and 9's or just 9's?

Good luck,
Frank

check the fuel pressure first, then spark plug.... maybe the cold start sensor too.

I guess the gas is clogged

Go with unflooding first as mentioned. Since when you do that you can check the plugs and see whats happened. Chances are just flooded, maybe a little wet outside along with the low temps or dry?

Anyway its hard to say, just try the unflooding first.

alright thanks guys

the plugs were changed less than a month ago and they are 9s. the battery is dying and i need another one but it definitely has enough power to crank and for lights and stuff at the moment.

but yeah it has been either rain or ice outside.

so i guess hopefully its either flooded or the filter needs to be changed... i havent changed the fuel filter since i got the car from snook.
