Anyone have any ideas? car started fine no prob moved it to middle of the garage to put on rear diff brace. lowered the car down again it wouldn't start, i'm getting spark, smell gas, and took starter out and tested it it's working fine. also the last time it started it blew out thin flakes of what looked like carbon deposits out the exhuast. tried pulling the emi fuse to cut off fuel to clean it out in case it flooded cuase it pulses and has thick white smoke that drifts out the back. put fuse in and still nothing.

Any ideas?

Flooded. Try the un-flooding procedures. Try some ATF..

like what? do i need to take spark plugs out and the emi fuse and then turn it over or what?

Yeah. Pull top plugs, add ATF (a little squirt each), remove fuse, crank over, install fuse, crank over. Should start, but will smoke like Puff the Magic Dragon...

also do i crank over with plugs out? or put them back in and then crank?

so I put atf on the plug where it fires? feel like a dumbass done tons of work on myself and pretty handy but never had to put auto fluid on plugs lol

atf in the housing. When you turn the engine over without the fuse leave the plugs out. If it is flooded you will most likely see fuel dripping outta the spark plug holes. Make sure the plugs are dry then try to start her back up.

And next time, make sure its fully warmed up before you shut it off.

I've never had the problem with the FD because I never shut it off without getting the temp gauge to normal, but with my 1st gen RX-7, before I knew better, I flooded it a few times due to not warming it up before I shut it off - just pulled it out of the garage to wash it, and it wouldn't re-start. When the engine is shut off cold, fuel condenses on everything in the combustion chamber. Voila! Flooded!

hey, I tried all the tricks, took plugs out, cleaned and dryed, turned motor over with emi fuse out, no gas came out when i turned it over. there was a bunch of oil around the front rotor's plugs that was already there before i took them out. put plugs back in and fuse, and still didn't start, took a trailing plug out and put a new plug in to see if that'd help and it was covered in gas after just a few turn overs. any ideas? it's getting towed to pro tech today in austin so i'll guess i'll find out. gonna have it dyno tuned while it's there finally yay
