wiring harness question

hi, i have a rhd rx7 and the rear harness is melted in some spots. i have been looking for a rhd harness for a while with no luck. i would like to know if it is possible to splice a 93 lhd harness to the rhd harness. will the colors match or are they totally different harnesses. thanks for the help.

Body Harnesses are always high $$$, since you usually can't just get pieces... I.E. Left Rear Quarter Panel... You might be better off taking it to an auto electronics place and having them run new wires for you, but that all depends on damage...

There aren't that many wires in the back of the car (Turn Signals, Reverse, Lic Plate, Wiper, washer, fuel pump, etc.... most things only need 1 wire since ground is the chassis.) Might want to do a search on the wiring diagram for the year FD you have.

Also what did you do to melt it ? if you don't correct it the new one will melt as well..

DC electronics are akin to plumbing (think yard sprinkler system), and aren't nearly as complicated as AC, or Digital, you might be able to do this yourself with some help...

Get you some automotive 16 gauge wire and carefully replace each damaged wire. Use larger gauge where applicable. Then retape the harness and lastly install some loom over it.

i purchased the car like that. i only found out when took the panels off. i replaced the main harness already. i just need to fix the rear. i basically need to know if there is a chart that tells you the jdm wire colors. i know that the jdm harness has 6 plugs and the usdm one has 4 or 5. if the colors are the same i can easy splice it. thanks for the help.
