wiring drivers door lock motor with clifford concept 650 alarm
 

hello folks

i recently had a clifford concept 650 alarm installed into my 1992 jap import r1 fd, but the guy who installed it said it would cost me £80 more to have a solenoid fitted into the drivers door. i would be really interested in how poeple have gone about doing this job like where they fitted the solenoid and how they connected the rods to the cables,how they routed the wires through to the door and how they wired it to the clifford concept alarm. I need to know what colour wires i need to use from the clifford unit and if i need to use relays. I have done my search on this forum but the pics dont show for some reason..bummer! sorry for the fussy questions lads but i really cant be doing with damaging my new alarm and using the key to unlock the doors is a git! ANY help will be much welcome..thanks lads!!

You will have to install the solonoid. Mine is mounted just below the door opener mechanism, but it's a left hand drive. You will have to run two wires through the door connector (look between the hinges on the body). To do it properly you will need pins and sockets for that connector. A relay would make the installation less engineering intensive (you wouldn't have to worry about load ratings etc.). If the alarm currently operates the passenger lock, you could just use that signal. Get it from the passenger side body wiring, not from the passenger door.

Sounds to me like you should just pay the installer the 18 lbs. He seems to know what he's doing, you may not. The solonoid alone would cost around 10 lbs.
