Wiring 99 Spec Nardi Airbag
 

Does anyone have instructions on how to wire in a Nardi 99 airbag?

The car had a sparco wheel installed previously and now Im going back to a nardi wheel.

The wiring on the car and wiring on the nardi airbag looks to be slightly modified so my mechanic is hesitant about throwing an airbag in there...

8. Now comes the fun part. Connecting all the wires. On the airbag, there should be 2 wires. You can connect these 2 wires to the 2 airbag wires in the car in any order… it does not matter. I will caution you to be careful with this portion, you never know when something might malfunction. If you have both sides of the connector from your new airbag, I would suggest using it. You can solder the connector onto where the old airbag harness use to be. Otherwise, you will either need to solder the wires with the airbag hanging nearby or use some type of electrical connectors to crimp the wires. Make sure you put some type of insulator around the exposed wires.

Do you have the clock spring on your car? I had an aftermarket steering wheel on mine and I had to remove the clock spring.

Re: clock spring with aftermarket shortie hubs/quick releases, in the past (on my old VR R1) I had to literally chop down the blue connector with sturdy dykes, leaving the female spade for the horn button in place in order to install the ground wire. IIRC, the wire is green with a red tracer for those wondering. I removed all the rest of the clock spring pieces that were in the way due to lack of room with the Works Bell shortie hub.

I removed the sparco wheel and works bell hub on my own but didn't want to hook up the airbag. Probably should be doing the pfc AC fix on my own, that sounds like a fun fix. But the car is already there and Jeff will do it right so why not. I remember installing my own single turbo kit start to finish in our college dorm parking lot lol... Times have changed, except for that I still don't have a garage! Even still only have the same Sam's club tool kit from 2002
