Is this wire kit for a non air bag steering wheel?
 

I thought I scored on a JDM Nardi steering wheel wire kit for pre Nardi RX-7's but when I hooked it up I realized it must be for a after market non air bag type wheel. I remember reading a thread that someone said something about a kit being expensive. So if this is the kit then I don't want to cut the wires as I have an alternative way of connecting the Nardi wheel.

I have never heard of such a kit. If one exists though I'd certainly buy one.

Maybe it's custom made. It has a fuse type thing so the air bag light doesn't turn on (I think?) and it's a plug n play so to speak wire kit.

May the thing I remembered in the other thread was the wheel adapter? I thought it said something about being an expensive kit with wires and a cheap kit.

You can usually get rid of air bag light with a correct ohm resistor. The resistance is usually fairly low, around 1 or 2 ohms. Go to radio shack and buy some resistors, start with something higher than 2 ohms (put a couple in series) and work your way down by removing one resistor at a time, you will find the magic number that will turn the airbag light off, some cars you can just wire in a fuse (close to zero ohms) Just make sure to put a low amperage fuse in there if you find the light light goes out with a jumper in there. The reason for that is should you ever get in an accident and smash the impact sensor in front of the car, you want the srs to pop the fuse instead of shorting something out in the system but then again if you do get into an accident, you will have other things to worry about. I've never tried it on the 7 but it works great on alot of other cars, I had to do the mod for reasons due to custom seating or seats with no side bags into a car with oem side air bags or aftermarket steering wheels, etc., etc..

forgot to add one thing...resistors do not come in exact values. For example the 2 ohms reisistor comes in as 2.2 ohms +-. So don't kill yourselt trying to find something that is exactly 1 or 2 ohms, etc. Like I said in the above post, start high with a couple of low ohm's resistor in series and work your way down.

The Mazdaspeed hub for aftermarket steering wheels came with similar wiring. I have it in my car and it is a simple resistor pack to defeat the airbag light. The additional wire is for the operation of the horn, since there is a clock spring assembly the signal must pass through.

For our 91 Vert, which also had an airbag, I cut the wires, installed a standard resistor from Radio Shack (as mentioned above).

Ok, so it is a wire kit for an aftermarket steering wheel. I don't know what wheel the adpter ring and screws are for. I was going to cut them up to use the plastic connectors but that's kinda cool to keep if I ever want to swap a wheel for a track day and then swap back afterwards. http://www.finishlineperformance.com...9&cat=0&page=1
