Windshield wiper driver side problem
My windshield wiper on the driver's side is malfunctioning. I did a search and found lots of people who had both wipers just stop due to motor failure but didn't find any threads on my particular problem. The motor seems to be working but there seems to be some kind of disconnect of a linkage or something because the passenger side works normally while the driver side moves but only a little. They get crossed up and you have to turn them off right away. Is this something I can trust a regular (non-rotary) shop to fix? I know a bit about FDs but probably just enough to get me in trouble so don't know if I want to tackle it myself unless it is something real simple. Thoughts anyone?

Pull the plastic cap off that DS wiper where it connects to the linkage, remove the nut and remove the wiper arm ( rock it back and forth and pull straight up). Check the splines for wear. I'd bet the wiper arm socket splines are stripped out. If so I have a used one in my garage in good shape. Let us know.

Thanks for the advice. I think I may take another look. Perhaps I haven't looked well enough yet but how do you get to those innards you are talkin about? I'll have to take another look in the morning but a first glance it didn't look like anything inside was very easy to get to. Sorry if I sound like a complete moron when is comes to this stuff.
