window button electronics question
I'm kind of pissed off now that my window up/down switch has broken twice. The first time I opened it up and made a very simple gluing. (the internal latch gets unglued from the switch) I presume I will do that again this time, but I think I'm going to also install a backup switch in the bin behind the switches in case I get fucked again, and end up with my window all the way down with no easy way to get it back up.
Does anybody know which wires to deal with? I'll find out tomorrow, but if someone knows now, that'll save me the effort. Thanks. Oh yeah. Driving without the windows down is not an option. On a nice day, when the sunroof is open and the windows down. . . . that's awesome. :) |
I have no idea what wires to tap into.. But I'll bump this up to get you some more attention..:D

My switch broke as well. I took the whole thing apart and have been driving around for a long time controlling the windows by pressing the buttons on the circuit board. I know it's ghetto, but I'm waiting to find an early 90's Mazda with power windows to harvest the switches from. In the meantime, it doesn't bother me much, since I don't often look at it.

Why don't you get a new switch, I assume it's driver side right. You can probably hunt around a used one here or thepartstrader.com.

Suggestion.. .well I've seen so many people w/ broken window switches.. including myself.. so maybe we can have a group buy since this part isnt' really that cheap.
Anyone? |
