Wierd boost problem

I was just woundering if any of you have the same problem or what the problem or how to fix it. My boost runs a 10-12-10 and runs fine for simple trips. If I run my car real hard non-stop for 15 minutes after that I'm boosting nothing. It starts to boost up but it sounds like it starts leaking and the boost stays around 5 psi. Is the problem just from heat or is there something else that causes this boost.

If the weird boost only happens when the car is hot, its probably a solenoid thats malfunctioning when hot.

Check this site for some good turbo troubleshooting info: http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-...leshooting.htm

Could be a hose that comes off when hot, and the car is under load. The two that do that are the IC hose (engine torque pulls them apart, particularly if you have a bad engine mount) and the cross-over pipe, this can lift up until it hits the strut bar under full boost. Mine used to do this on the dyno until I noticed the bracket for it was missing.

heh, I am missing that bracket...where can I get one?

sorry to hijack your thread, but I would agree with 911GT2.

It's a U-shaped piece of metal with two threaded nuts welded onto each end. I just made one. You definitely need one - mine would levitate a couple of inches at full load on the dyno and I had those hose clamps on insanely TIGHT.

Of course you *could* do what I did for a test - jam a rag between the pipe and the strut bar, but that's a fire hazard :)

The section in that link that states that if the secound throttle doesn't work properly that it will mantain 5 psi. Thats exactly what happens but when the car is hot. Could the secound throttle mess up when its hot. And how can I go about to fix the problem?

And thanks for the link.
