Wich different between 93 and 94 RX 7???
 

Some one can tell me???
i discovered today that my car is from 93 and not from 94.
Wich different are between these??
About tuning, there is some other things i should know before do it in my 93 rx 7
I want to do exhaust N1Dual and filter (K&N) in stock filter box, and in the future ECU and full cat and cold air intake.

for 94, they recalibrated the suspension settings on the base and touring models (made them slightly softer). They also reduced the rear anti-roll bar from 19mm to 16mm. The R2 model remained the same.

Thats the only functional changes I know about.

The 93 had a different coolant than the 94. The coolant from 93 isn't made anymore.

What makes you think your car is a '93 and not a '94? '94 cars have build dates from '93. Best way to verify car year is to look at the last letter in the VIN. '93's are P and '94's are R

rynberg: no such thing as a '93 R2 model. The 94 R2 model got softer suspension settings over the '93 R1 as well as getting 16lbs heavier.

Mazda made numerous changes within the model year so you can't really make one perfect list. Do a search since this question has been asked before.

Just to pass my knowledge on from being a former Mazda Service manager this is some of the stuff that's different as the years went by, this will apply to all RX7's not just R1,R2's, touring,PEP,base, etc.

1. 94-95 Instrument cluster is different due to the fact of having no small indication lines between numbers
2. 94-95 Have smaller rear swaybars.
3. 94-95 Have different dash panels in the way that they're not painted and won't peel like the 93's
4. 94-95 Have 2 additional braces under the rear subframe to minimize the rear subframe from flexing under load(Mostly to try and prevent axle hop)
5. 94-95 Have dual airbags.
6. The EGR system on the 94-95 is different.
7. The 93's were the only ones that came with chrome colored intake manifold nuts.
8. The 93's intake elbow on the throttle body was grey colored, not black like the 94-95.
9. Touring didn't exist in 95 it was replaced by the PEP package, even though the PEP package was introduced earlier in 94.
10. Only Tourings came with glass sunroofs.
11. Only 93 offered a CYM(Competition Yellow Mica) on R1 models
12. There was no white RX7 in 93, only 94-95.
13. R1 and R2's only came in Yellow, Red, Black, and Silver.
14. 95 RX7's used R134 A/C refrigerant, not R12 like the 93-94.
15. 95 RX7's also used a lighter ABS system than the 93-94.

edit: This is from another person's post, I'm not nor have I ever been a Mazda parts manager. ;) (I did, however, have a summer job as the lot boy at a Mazda dealership in '95 hehehe)

I remember that they made a few pieces changed in the cooling system from 93 model to 94 model since the 93 model was easy to get overheated. Can't remember it exactly though

Apr. 30, 1992: Redesigned front glass guide (power windows)
May 11, 1992: Redesigned circuit logic of torque reduction control (Don't ask, I have no idea!!)
May 20, 1992: Tie down holes underneath cars added for ease of transportation. Dealer must install hole plugs to prevent rust.
May 31, 1992: Redesigned upper A-arm bushings, modified front windshield molding, redesigned engine mount, redesigned steering rack boots
June 7, 1992: Redesigned alarm to function if door opened before engine stopped
June 10, 1992: Flange added to rubber mount washer for intercooler hose. The old washers break apart.
July 2, 1992: Redesigned ECU for 5-speed RX-7, redesigned hood to prevent squeaking
July 10, 1992: Redesigned intercooler hose with stronger material
Aug. 4, 1992: Redesigned black interior trim pieces to prevent peeling (Although some cars produced after this date have experienced the peeling trim problem)
Sep. 30, 1992: Redesigned ECU for Automatic Transmission RX-7
Nov. 30, 1992: Redesigned rear hatch hinges
Dec. 2, 1992: Redesigned shift select spindle to increase accuracy of shift pattern and prevent damage to 5th gear synchros due to missed shifts

1994 Models
Feb. 10, 1993: Redesigned turbo relief vacuum hose (3000 rpm hesitation), redesigned door checker, redesigned steering rack boots (larger diameter) redesigned glove box lamp cover (light stayed on with door closed)
Aug. 1, 1993: Redesigned turbo charger housing (Mazda says this was to make the part easier to manufacture.)
Oct. 8, 1993: Redesigned clutch facing material for longer life
Jan. 21, 1994: Redesigned numerous cooling system parts to withstand
higher temperatures.

Sept, 1994 Redesigned fuel hoses to withstand higher temperatures and added fan relay to allow cooling fan to run for 10 minutes after engine was shut off.

strut tower bar in the 93 car is adjustable (R1) but not in the later cars(R2):D
