TCW3 2 stroke oil you can find at autozone or pep boys. Should be in local parts stores as well. Its a Dark blueish oil.

anyone have pictures or good diagrams of oil metering lines and injector location?

The injectors are on top of the engine, to the left and right of the primary fuel rail. The oil metering pump is on the lower passenger-side front of the engine. The lines run between the pump and injectors.

Just for reference to anyone doing a rebuild, or who just has everything apart.
You can get stainless steel braided oil injector lines from a few vendors. I got mine from Gotham I think.

What about Protek-R? I've heard only good things about this product. I'm about to purchase some premix product, and I'm still trying to know which one to buy...

Why not just run braided OMP lines?

bryant 12-10-07 04:44 PM

i guess im better off than you guys i have a haltech so there is no omp.
i alway have to premix.

s-thetikz 12-10-07 05:10 PM

I agree, or get stock replacement lines. They are nearly 14 years old! Just because the lines are now failing, it's not reasonable to assume the general concept is bad.

pre mix

MMO is not a premix. its more of a cleaner. but it dose work well in our cars to help with carbon build up. 4oz per tank of gas and everything runs smooth.

Actually I don't think that's a very good substitute for a pre-mix oil. IIRC, it's more of a solvent than a lubricant. Check the viscosity of it. It pours like water. It may have some value as a fuel additive, but IMHO not a premix.

Those are a waste of money. How would you ever know if the OMP is working if you can't see the oil flowing? Also the OMP doesn't even pressure the lines enough for those kinds of lines. You can save some money if you DYI your own lines. I did!

After removing omp and premixing its a little of a pain but i dont like the idea of putting old dirty crankcase oil thats diluted with gas in my combustion chamber! I just feel better using an oil product thats designed to be used for this purpose.

KaiFD3S 12-10-07 10:57 PM

just wondering if you were to take the OMP what is all needed, will this work if I am using a PFC or do you have to use haltech, motec or microtech.

Busted7 12-10-07 11:49 PM

Can you ask that question in a diffrent way im confusied?

You can take it off and put a block off plate. The pfc won't care.

KaiFD3S 12-11-07 12:35 AM

So I can take the OMP off put a block off plate and the car will run fine and not go on limp mode or anything?

what would you use to block off where the oil injectors are?

jacobcartmill 12-11-07 04:05 AM

i have been premixing since this incident along with stainless braided lines.

to the people asking about how much you premix: if you have an OMP, use about 1/2oz per gallon. if you have the OMP removed/blocked off, use about 1 oz per gallon. any more than that is definitely overkill.

No. No limp mode with a PFC.

Herblenny 12-11-07 09:57 AM

No limp mod w/PFC... But I would keep the OMP.

If you are worried about dumping in dirty oil then you could go with the OMP adaptor to use external reservoir tank with clean oil:) This is the way I'm going so that I could run FULL synthetic internally and use 2 cycle or conv. oil with the adaptor.

I see. So its ok to run a bit of premix as well as the OMP. Thought it would carbon deposit the engine. G

chagar 12-11-07 07:44 PM

I have never pre-mixed and have had no problems. I use Castrol 20-50. Motor has ~5000 miles on it. I change oil every 3 months <500 miles.

I'm sure he is.

Supposedly the ideal ratio without an OMP is 100:1, so you'd be looking at around 1.5 oz's per gallon of fuel.

I've been running 1 oz per gallon of Idemitsu synth pre-mix (with a working OMP) for quite some time now with no ill effects such as smoking.

I can't remember...do you still run a cat? That's my biggest concern for augmenting the OMP.
