Why am I getting crazy votage readings from my TPS?

I got a new TPS because my old one was way out of spec. At WOT the votage on the bottom wire was double what it should be and the top wire just maxed out the needle on the voltometer. I replaced it and its not any different. Why am I getting crazy voltage readings? Is it my actual wiring harness?

bump. Can anyone help me out on this one?

Notes

Throttle Sensor Adjustment
Warm engine to operating temperature and run at idle. Verify that throttle is off fast idle cam and stop engine.
Connect SST's, or equivalent, as shown. Turn ignition ON.
Throttle Sensor Specifications

Rotate throttle link by hand and verify voltage is within specification.
If not, adjust sensor and check again. If still not correct, replace sensor.

That totaly didnt help me. I already replaced it. Its still out of spec.

From my old notes:

TPS Connector Leads (4 lined up vertically) and Required Voltages:
(1) 2nd from top (green wire with red stripe), this goes to the
3F ECU connector. Closed throttle +V range is 0.75 to 1.25.
Fully opened throttle +V range is 4.8 to 5.0.

(2) Bottom (black wire with green stripe), this goes to the 3G
ECU connector. Closed throttle +V range is 0.1 to 0.7.
Fully opened throttle +V range is 4.2 to 4.6.

These are the positive connections. The negative goes to engine or chassis ground.

Now tell us what the your meter reads instead of saying high/low/pegged!

the connections and specifications are listed in the pics. I f you are not getting anything close to what the specs are you are probably not tapped into the proper wire. Look closely at the diagram and you will see the tps and the color codes for the connections. This is Mazda info.

Be sure to set the voltage scale on the dvom to 12v dc

With my new TPS sensor I get perfect readings with the throttle closed. Tapping the right wires. At WOT the bottom black wire reads just over 8v and the top one goes past 10 (my multimeter only reads to 10)

Hi, I'm from Portugal and unfortunately there aren't any tuners here to tune my fd3s properly, not even the oficial dealer... I don't want that you guys get bored with the details, but for you to get the picture, I've bought my Rex all disassembled with a broken engine, but that looks caught my attention and I didn't knew anything about rotary engines and it took me about a year to get her straight, but now I'm having so many problems that I don't even know where to start... I'm even considering going to UK just to tune her properly, but it will costs thousands... Now the problem related to this thread- I'm getting different readings from the TPS, like in narrow range I tune to .85 with the engine shut down, if I start the engine the reading drops to .75, if I turn the lights on it drops again to .70 and if the radiator fans went on the reading drops even more to .55 and for what I understand, this makes me running lean and the throttle response fails... any miraculous help? I really love my car and I've spent hundreds of hours with her and I don't want to sale her, even because if I can't get her straight, I won't sell her to anyone. The emissions are another issue, I'll left it for another thead... thanks.
