Who Wants To Weigh Their Cars??
 

If there was a place where you could drive in and weigh your car for $20, (similar to a dyno run) would you be willing to pay this amount?

The problem with this idea is the scale. How to calibrate it and which one to use. Industrial scales for this purpose with any type of accuracy are expensive.

I look at it this way, if you want your car to loose weight, go on a diet yourself.

i think your definately in the wrong section. If the scale was super accurate i would.

Yes i'd like to know my car and yes i'd weigh it..i figured i've taken out close to 200lbs already...get around 280lbs and thats 10% off...braking handling speed would all improve

Its called a junkyard, lots of them have scales that are accurate within 10lbs.

Call all the junk/metalyards around you one is bound to have a scale.

And normally they only charge 5-10 dollars.

Where I live there is a recycling center and they always leave their scale on. So when it’s not business hours you just drive up, get out, look at the read out and take off. And the best thing is, its free.

Why not get scales so you can corner weigh a car?
Then you can setup the car to its optimal conditions and get vehicle weight at the same time.

The reason I asked is because everytime my friends get together and bull*hit about cars, the weight and the power of the car is always the big issue and the arguements. I have a bunch of friends do nothing except bragged about the horsepower. They all into Dyno war type of thing which does not interest me.
Since weight is always dominating arguement in the performance,
I am thinking of investing to buy the most accurate racing scale and charge those "son of a b*tch" $20. each.
The racing scale has 4 parts and you have to put your 4 tires on those 4 parts I mentioned. The scale cost $1,700.
I am thinking if its worth or can I get my money back?

Dont go through all that trouble just to win some stupid argument. My fd weighs 2860lbs with a FULL tank of gas and all my removable audio stuff in it and a bunch of other junk stashed in the bins, just in case you wanted to know.

theres a weigh station by my house taht we use at night without their permission shhhh. i weigh in at 2620 with full interior and gas with me in it im 2760. its a base model with a single turbo.
