Who has BnR upgraded turbos?
 

I know of myself and kwik...anyone else have them and what is the situation with them. Has anyone made any high boost with them?

I was thinking about sending my turbos out to BNR to have them done. Did you guys go with the stage 2 turbos? Are these worth the extra $900?

Id get the ballbearing set from m2 or checkpoint before Id upgradte the stockers jspec...but you will need larger injectors and a diff pump if you want to run full boost on them...

good luck widebody...let us know how it works out...Im anxious to see a dyno chart from them.

I have BNR basic rebuild with ported wastegate.
I have seen spike as much as 15 psi once after putting wastegate, then I chicken out. So I install the precontrol valve to keep it down.
Now I got nice 10-8-10.

I don't know if they were worth the extra $900 honestly. They make good power but its hard to say if its a whole lot more than the stockers. They sure do have bigger compressor wheels though....they look like they'd be a huge upgrade. They spool a good amount slower than stock. I run about 16.5 lbs and have seen as much as 19 on cold nights. From 0-4,000 rpms my car is a dog...4-6 is pretty fast, 6-8k rpm's just jump and the car is flying. I have them setup parallel.

If you get them I would 100% recommend staying sequential.

brian told me personally that the upgrades were good for ~50+rwhp.....i met him in person in birmingham a few months ago. i think that i am going to get his stg II upgrade. i do not mind the lag from the NS set up. i get full boost at around 3650rpm, and that is good for me. i am getting used to the feel so that i do not hate the single upgrade in a few months....

i am running sequentially.
I got the Stage 1. So stock fast primary, and high flow secondary.
I tested it on 3rd from 2000rpm to 7500rpm.
I saw it start building boost from 2000rpm. Slowly reaching full boost of 10psi by ~2700/2800rpm.
So 5/6psi by ~2500.
And I still have 10-8-10 boost pattern with stock ECU.
and I control boost with wastegate valve, and precontrol valve.

They are good. Bryan mention that I have to go to mid-teens with them turbos. But I need to get PowerFC and fuel upgrades to reach it, don't I?

I think that they would make 50+ more hp but not at the same psi - they will allow you to run more boost than the stockers. I would imagine at 15-17 psi sequentially they would rip. Non-seq they are doggy down low but Bryan is using a new compressor wheel in his upgrades now that is designed for velocity and tip speed. I also had him put in non-clipped turbines so I would have more low-mid range power but a little less peak hp. Lane Change made a post saying he gets full boost (13 psi) by 4200 rpms which isn't that far off the stockers.

I'll let everyone know what I think of them sequentially since everyone else seems to be running them NS

Reza, running even the stage 1 on the stock ecu can be a little risky - even at 10 psi. Even a Pettit unlimited ecu you could probably get more out of that turbo setup.

aren't the bnr's only able to be ran at high psi say 17-19 in non-sequential. I heard anything more than 15 sequential wouldn't be good because of the high heat. This is why i am leaning towards the M2's even thought the price is higher.

I got wideband.
I tested it rich 10.9 all the way to 7000 rpm.
This is on 3rd gear.
I do the testing twice.
First for boost pattern, I am watching the boost gauge while going 3rd from 2500rpm to 7000rpm.
Second for A/F gauge, 10.9 as soon as I WOT it from 2500rpm to 7000rpm.

I think 10.9 is rich enough... No spikes, since I adjust the precontrol and wastegate valves...

I don't know the deal of sequential and non-sequential.
The thing is for sequential setup, after 4500rpm, both turbines are running thus it runs just like non-sequential. Both builds boost. What is the different at 4500rpm and above???

Sounds like you are running it pretty safe and slightlly rich with a 10.9 a/f. There is no difference above 4500 rpms between NS and seq as both turbos are online as you said. If you have full NS with the flapper door cut out then it will open it up even more to allow a little more power. Basically, NS is better for more boost than sequential since there's not as much heat build-up in that transition switch-over.

You can run up to 17 psi on the PFC - above that you need a 3 bar map sensor like artguy has. He wants to run up to 20 psi - I persoanlly don't think you need that much boost on the street - amybe with E.. streets at the strip. 15-16 psi is plenty with these turbos. If you want 450 rwhp then that's different but I want 370-400 rwhp that streetable. I guess it's all in what you want.
