Which valve is BOV
If I wanted a louder BOV sound from the stock BOV, which valve would I vent to the atmosphere? The one located near the front of the engine bay, or the one near the rear?
Thanks K |
sorry for the stupid question that I could probably find in a search, but I was putting together my car and I thought I would ask quick since my hands are fithly and this was easier than searching...sorry, for being lazy!

It's the one nearer the airbox.

cool, thanks, that is what I *thought*, but wanted to check!

It is the one that comes from the center of the "Y" Pipe - the CRV is the one connected near the secondary (Rear) Turbo

I have the BOV closet to the airbox and it doesnt make any sound at all. Could hear everything but a BOV. Whay is that?
|
hmmm...
to my knowledge the stock BOV (or as I like to refer to it as, the Air Bypass Valve) doesn't make sound, even when vented into the air...
It is not really designed for sound...that is why I got the APEXi Dual Chamber BOV, the sound isn't great but it is nice, and the performace is good too. |
Stock is loud enough
I have the APEXI intake, and the stock BOV venting into the intake is quite loud. Even when I'm not at full boost. It is even louder now that I put on the vented hood.
I have a blitz SS BOV to go in my IC pipe, Really just for show since the stock unit does a very good job. Make sure you plug the air box after you pull that hose off. I would use a rubber stopper. |
With my windows open I can hear my stock BOV even with it venting into my Modified Stock Airbox! it is very loud when it is free vented.

i have mine vented into the atmosphere and it's pretty damn loud
