where to run fan, boost, wires etc...
 

looking for a place to run my boost, fan, temp wires through, took a look today and cant find anything. i really dont want to drill through my car , anyone know where i can go through? thanks in advance

i installed an amplifier for my stereo and i drilled a hole through the firewall in the drivers side. Since you dont want to drill, get under the drivers side dash and look for a pre-existing hole.

i would recommend drilling through the firewall however, only b/c there will be a plethora (yes i said plethora :cool:) of things that will ultimately go through the firewall.

Steering rack boot...use a clothes hanger and some electrical tape and when you poke the wires thru they will go with the hanger...i have a vacuum hose for the boost gauge, ground, and temp gauge sensor wire

i drilled a hole to the right of my gas peddal, in the engine bay it comes out right next to your master cylinder.

Also, you can run them on the driver's fender area (there is an opening near the igniter/cruise control area). They will poke through by the fuse box at the drivers foot area.

OMG, Mahjik's way is clean and beatiful, but man its tougher said then done. I did it once, but after that I just did the firewall drill procedure and get the grommet to make it clean.
Caution: if drilling on driver side, watch out for the booster.

Take out the fender liner and use the driver-side grommet. Cut a slit in the grommet and also punch a small hole in it to allow the wire to slide into the center of the grommet.

Anything else is a hack.

You have a driver-side and a passenger-side wiring path to choose from.

this happen to one of my friend who did drilled a hole through firewall.. cause the car leak water when rain and rusted the area where he drilled

ok removing the fender liner sounds like a good way... i just tried to get it off and it is pretty hard , it seems to be together with something behind it ( looks like its connecting to the side vent..etc ). i dont want to just yank at it because i dont want to break nothing , how should i go about removing it?

Push inwards to provide freespace at top.

Then pull towards front of car.

BTW: Take all plastic fasteners out of the liner, front part included. You must remove the entire liner.

The fender lining just has some plastic screw "jobbies" that hold it there (don't know there technical name for 'em). You should only need to remove a few of them (maybe up to the top of the wheel well) to have good access behind the fender.

Also, if any fasteners present an issue, use something to hold the outer section of it to stop the entire fastner from rotating when you loosen the plastic screw.
