Where to get cheap ast removal?
 

i've seen the ast removal kits and they're $50 for some cheap looking parts. anyone know a place that has them cheaper.

Call Ray @ Malloy Mazda 1-888-533-3400 It will only be a few dollars cheaper but worth it. The main cost of the kit is the fact that you are replacing the filler cap with the unit from a 86-88 FC. That has the overflow nipple on it to attach to the tank(overflow) The other nipples you can just put a bolt in the end of the hose and clamp both ends off. Pretty easy But the 86-88 cap is a needed part so the cost is reasonable;)

I found my on ebay $10 :) search for coolant filler neck or something of the like...

I used a rubber cap with a large zip tie hold it on under pressure. It has not failed or leaked. There are cheaper ones, so make shure you get a thick one. The price difference could be less then a dollar. I got the 2nd Gen cap from M'Trix cause they are local otherwise Malloy would have been my choice to.

I think that will work but the shiny aluminum piece needs to have the nipple that goes to your overflow tank. It is hard to tell if it does on that pic.

That won't work. You don't need anything except the 86-88 ? coolant filler neck with the over flow nipple, the o-ring and a section of 3/8" hose about 24 inches long then cut to size. Also three clamps, two for the 3/8" hose and one for the overflow hose will secure everything. Trust me, I just did it.
