Where does this go?

Alright, I might get flamed for this but here it is. I have searched this forum and gone through my FSM and I can't find the answer to it.

I recently put a PFC in. There is a small black connector that I think it is a ground in the ECU connector mess. The wire is black with a yellow stripe. I took a pic of it but I can not find the USB cable (I know I am a mess).

I know that there is a ground wire that connects to the ECU mount with a circle connector and that not the one I referring to. Any help or pics might help.

isnt there an unconnected plug down there for diagnostic use only? i might be wrong but i think theres a black plug thats always been disconencted down there for me atleast. if you're not having any problems don't worry about it

I am, and I think that its my problem. Definitely not a diagnostic port. Its a single wire. I think that it is a ground and causing erroneous MAP sensor readings.

well you never stated what problem you were having...you think it's causing bad MAP readings or you know it's causing bad MAP readings?

I think that its causing my bad MAP sensor readings......seems most map sensor problems end up as a bad ground.

ground it and see what happens?

It a diagnostic port but can also be run to a switch for the "fan mod" Basically you run it to a switch to ground it and it will make the fans run for 10 min after shut down. Search for the procedure.

Wouldn't diagnostic ports have more than just a single wire?

Up

If it had more than one function, yes. However, this wire is specifically for testing the fan operation. If you read here: http://www.fd3s.net/fan_mod.html

it names the wire you are asking about.
