Where do you guys mount extra switches?

Question people...

Where have you mounted any extra switches?
ie. Radiator fan switches?

Any pix?

Thanx. Mike

maybe take out the cassette player??

or just bolt it on under the dash

center console where the stock fog / defroster / alarm lights go.

center console underneath the ashtray....cut out something in the bottom of the ashtray and center console for the switch to mount in. this would also be hidden.

under the radio sort of like gauges....ie saab 3 gauge panel

in the glove compartment

I mounted my scramble boost button right in the center console where there is usually a dead button b/t the fog light and rear defroster button. Took out the dead button and put in a factory button (too bad the button was pretty expensive). Looks factory too, plus no cutting up anything.

Thanx for the replies. I have all three centre console buttons being used up right now (foglights, headlight washer, and rear defrost). I am actually in the process of installing gauges in the upper DIN area.

I would prefer to be able to see the switches and access them easily, the glove compartment has crept into my mind but is a bit of a far reach as my right arm is not 5 feet long.

Oh well.

Any other suggestions?

Thanx
Mike

if you have cruise control you can take apart the dash and use that switch for a radiator fan instead

I put my fan switch in the center console ashtray. It's easy to get to and is out of sight when I slide the ashtray closed.

I already have my switch for the PMC in the ashtray a la style to rob robinette (thank you very much rob).

I like to keep spare change in it, so I am not planning on putting any more guages in the ashtray.

I think I will go with some switches to the sides of the shifter symmetrically placed, like the window switches on BMWs. Am planning on using backlight switches (not toggle sticks).

Any other suggestions?

Mike
