Where do these wires go? Electronic boost gauge without instructions

My HKS electronic boost gauge is new but has no instuctions. I did a read up on installations but i know the basics already.
Ok so where do these wires go? Left wires in the pic are Yellow, Red, black and Orange.
Wires on the right are brown, Grey and Green.

fstrnyou 03-18-04 07:44 PM

well, the red is most likely 12v power, the black is ground, the orange might be the backlight wire, and i'm guessing the yellow is the signal wire.

the yellow or orange wire could be an ignition on power source while the red is constant 12v. and the other for backlighting since the other three wires you mentioned are probably for the sender.

AHHHHh but there is more..........LOL

Mazdabation 03-18-04 07:55 PM

both sets....

Mazdabation 03-18-04 08:01 PM

boost sensor......

fstrnyou 03-18-04 09:21 PM

those 3 wires coming from the guage attach to the sensor right?? then i think i'm correct about the other four, 12v constant, 12v ignition, ground, and light.

Mazdabation 03-19-04 11:30 AM

No, the sensor has its own wires going to it. You can see the thick wraped wire in the pics. So those other three are a mystery

I wonder if someone with a different brand electric boost gauge could help you out...I had one years back but don't remember sorry..

Mazdabation 03-19-04 05:57 PM

Im hopeing.......GOD, you out there :D

fstrnyou 03-19-04 06:29 PM

the pic of the boost sensor only shows three wires, but you say the sensor gets 4 wires. you're making this very confusing for me

and what are all those lights for on the guage??

Mazdabation 03-19-04 08:43 PM

HAHA i think you confusing me too.
There are two plugs on the back of the gauge. One has the red, orange, yellow and black. these are assumed for the power and such.

The other plug(6 wires) has brown, grey, green, white, yellow, and pink. The brown green and grey come down half way and stop and come out, as seen in the pic. The rest of them stay wraped and go down to the sendor unit. its the three that come out from the 6 plug that we can not determine.

The lights are warnings for peak hold and such.....

fstrnyou 03-20-04 09:07 AM

damn, what's up with all the wires. sheesh. i don't think my MAF meter has that many wires. i'll have to think about that for a while. did you send an email to HKS to see if they can help? or maybe an HKS dealer might be able to get a hand on some instructions for you.

Mazdabation 03-20-04 10:50 AM

I'm thinking i may have to visit a performance shop. The only thing is half the ones close to me are just Honda selling light bulb stores...
By the way thanks for your help thus far.....your the only one that has given any insight
Cheers

sheite... I used to have all of HKS's wiring colors written up on a sheet of paper, but have either lost it or sent it off to someone esle..

Regardless, call HKS custmer support, let them know what type of gauge you have and they'll be happy to give you the wiring instructions.
