Where can I get a DT-S1000 or Self Diagnostic Checker?

Does anyone know where I can buy either the DT-S1000 or the Self- Diagnosis Checker? The dreaded SSTs of Mazda shop manuals.

I know this thread is old, but i still googled for the DT-S1000 when i found this thread.

Im wondering that nobody even made a software for a Notebook with a cable from usb to diagnosis checker to read out and test the cpu.

I knew that some guys did that here in europe for audi.

Maybe it is because you can read the engine codes without needing it:dunno:.

The factory ECU has only been partially disassembled. It's not fully understood, and neither is the diagnostic protocol. The Honda diagnostic protocol and the Nissan protocols are logged in their respective platforms but they have a market of modified factory ECU's. The FD really doesn't have that, just a few vendors offering ECU's with fuel cut removal and modified fuel/ignition maps.

ok here is a list that maps SST monitor functions to loggable parameters in a Power FC. Anything labeled "Advance" such as "Advance PC%" needs a datalogit to be monitored. "Basic" corresponds to parameters that can be monitored in the Commander's Monitor screen. "Sensor" corresponds to a sensor voltage on the left side of the etc. --> sensor/sw check screen. "Switch" means it is in that same screen, with a little filled in dot indicating that the switch is active. I'm going to make new thread later which goes into more detail.

i worked at all the local dealerships here from 1997-2007 and ive never seen one, they were $10,000 NEW in the 90's.

its simple to make one though, especially nowadays that you can let your desktop computer log everything.

arghx; paul ko, has taken his FC ecu test board (looks like andrews http://www.16paws.com/ECU/WonderTester/index.html) and we're almost done updating to FD. so hopefully sometime this year we'll be able to get all the maps out of the FD ecu.
