wheel well cleaning

I have my suspension largely disassembled and would like to spiff things up while I have it apart.

I'm looking for recommendations on

1) products/techniques to clean and shine the aluminum suspension arms.

2) "undercoat" products for wheel wells

Thanks!

C'mon guys, I see all these pics of pristine aluminum parts etc. What are you using? Wheel cleaner? Grease cleaner is not cuttin' it....

They are having them polished, polishing themselves, or chroming them to get them nice and shiny. A search will turn up many results on it. :)

zullo,

PM "ebb". He's local and has a sandblaster (for your suspension parts).

Just buy some aluminum wheel cleaner (spray type) found at pepboys or autozone. Mothers and Armour-All makes them. While your there buy some mild steel wool pads. Spray Cleaner on components let sit for a minute. Scrub with a steel wool pad and wipe everything off real good with a clean rag. Then scrub with unused clean steel wool pad to a nice shine. Works pretty good for me.

thanks, good idea. I wasn't sure how caustic to go on the wheel cleaner. I saw an "etching" aluminum wheel cleaner that looks like it would work, but I don't want to fog or otherwise ruin whatever finish is on there.

Mahjik, thanks for the info. If I can't get 'em shining to my satisfaction, I'll give ebb a call.
