Wheel hop between gears?

does anyone else get wheel hop when going from 1st to 2nd? i used to only get a lot of wheel spin, but after i put in my clutch/flywheel i started t get a lot of hop along with the spin.

I have the M2 trailing arms, and i thought it would help clear up this problem, but it didnt.

any suggestions on what else i can do? will the M2 toe link also help eliminating this problem?

thanx

I have the same problem. When I added alot of power I started to get mad Hop. I think the only thing you can do is the trailing arms and Some Solid Diff bushings. I think the combination will help alot. The On/Off torque of the wheels hopping can cause the diff to break so be careful. When it breaks it takes the housings too and thats expensive.

Last time I was at the strip I got some seriouse wheel hop into 2nd, and nice chirp into third. Wheel hop sucks., and so does burning up your clutch to counteract it.

If you still have the stock 16" rims upgrading to 17" will help stop the wheel hop. I have noticed it alot when I had the stock wheels on.

hmmm... I think I know your problem.

Check your PPF now. Your bushings may be OK.

How are your tires? I know when I got new tires, it eliminated the wheel hop.

what is difference between hopping and chirping the tires?

When it happens, you'll know. Chirp is just your tires slipping against the pavement. Wheel hop is the tire actually getting traction, twisting the rubber bushings in the suspension pivot points until they release the stored energy like a spring. This will actually cause the tires to lift off the ground a little. It feels like your car was hit with a jackhammer. My S03's used to do this in a downpour. Now that I have more power, they just break loose. :D
