Whats in a Turbo Rebuild Kit?

What do you (we) get when we buy a Turbo Rebuild Kit? AND, what company has the best components and price. Thanks.

turbo rebuild kit norally consists of front and rear CHRA bearings, thrust collar, thrust collar bearing, and rear oil seal.

Here is most of the stuff you get in a turbo rebuild kit from turbo city (multiples where required). There is also an oring that comes with the kit. They cost $150 per turbo. I don't know of anyone else who sells rebuilt kits for the stockers. So far, around 12k miles with no problems.

First time I see the actual Turbo components. Many thanks for the photo!. If you don't mind, will you please answer a few questions...

Q.) Did you take the Turbo(s) off the manifold for the rebuild ... or take off the manifold with Turbos attached?

Q.) What was the most difficult part of the rebuild?

Q.) How hard was it to take apart the Turbo and inner parts and install new parts?

Q.) How long did the rebuild take (total time for one Turbo)?

Q) What was/is the most noticable improvement after the rebuild.

Thanks a bunch.

1-You take off the turbos with the manifold together, it would be very dificult to align them back if you just take the turbo out without the manifold.

2- The most dificult part for me I think was the taking out the big C clip that hold the turbine housing and the installing back the little C clips that hold the shaft bearings.

3-Taking out and installing the new parts with the right tools I think it was a piece of cake, don't need to be a scientist.

3-Total time for both turbos to rebuild and get them ready to put in your car (taking your sweet time) it should be like 3-4 hours tops.

5-I didn't notice no diference b/c they worked fine even before reb. and after I rebuilt them I went non-seq. so couldn't tell no difference, I rebuilded them just cuz they where over 100k miles.

TwinTurbo93 answered everything.

For #5, I didn't notice a performance difference, but I did notice that I didn't have an oil smoke screen behind my car anymore. :)

TwinTurbo93 and ISUposs: Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. I think I'm going to give it a try. Just getting rid of the smoke screen is worth it. Thanks again.

I should mention that there are some people who haven't had good luck with the Turbo city kit or rebuilds in general, just FYI.

also, here is some more info.
