What's the best launch kit?
I want to reduce wheel hop with switching to different rear tires so I'm looking at rear suspension upgrades. Here are the two sets that I'm aware of:
Pettit TRACK-PRO LAUNCH KIT (Street) : $249 TRACK-PRO TOE LINK KIT : $200 M2 Competition Trailing Arms Set : $190 Competition Toe Link Set : $230 I'm under the impression that getting either one of these sets should dramatically reduce wheel hop. Does anyone know which set up is better? Are there others that I should be looking at? |
This is a very good question and one I would like to know the answer to as well. My only thought so far on choosing one is that I also want M2s adjustable sway bar and that they should be able to tell me how best to combine it with their launch kit as far as settings go.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
By the way, I originally wrote, "I want to reduce wheel hop with switching to different rear tires," but I meant to write, "I want to reduce wheel hop without switching to different rear tires." |
Jim LaBreck's Unobtanium bushing set is supposed to eliminate wheel hop. Once I get mine installed I'll report back.

The trailing arms and the diff bushings will help the most with wheel hop. The toe links are nice to have but I don't think they will do much, if anything, with the wheel hop. The benefit with the M2 trailing arms over the Unobtanium bushings is that it is a solid mount so there is no bushing there at all anymore instead of a hard bushing. I just installed my toe links and trailing arms tonight but haven't driven it yet, I'll let you know if it made a big difference after I get it aligned Saturday, I had horrible wheel hop on my drag radials. I'll also let you know how the diff bushings help because my Unobtanium bushings will be here next week. If you want to buy my trailing arm bushings let me know, since I won't be needing them. The only other thing you would need to buy is the diff bushings then.
The sway bar would not be affected by any of the drag launch kits. |
