What is your oil pressure when cruising on the highway?
At around 80 mph, I am seeing about 90 psi on the stock gauge. This seems kinda high to me, what are others seeing? Also, it's a new sending unit.

Rich, assuming a cruising speed of 80 mph in 5th gear (3k rpm), you should be about 50-60 psi of oil pressure. However, I have noticed that since I installed my RE dual oil coolers, that the oil pressure is higher (I presume mostly due to lower oil temps).
Oil pressure will depend on oil viscosity, temperature, and probably other factors. What rpm are you seeing 90 psi at? |

scratchjunkie...i see that u've updated ur little spyderman's logo

I'm just a hair below 60...

at 3k, i'm usually around 70-80psi on the stock gauge. if i just changed the oil, it'll read 90 for a little while, the drop gradually. 2500 is 60-65psi

75 mph on a warmed up motor with 10w-30 I see about 60-65 psi on the stock gauge.
|
Mobil 1 15w50 I see just under 60 psi @ about 3k RPM on a fresh oil change with a warmed-up engine.
Is any significant difference likely with an R1 vs. Touring (dual vs. single coolers) at Hwy speed? |
I can see upwards of 120 when I push it. Usually around 100 at about 3K cruising, perhaps even less RPM. Using Penz 20W50.

At 80 mph I'm holding steady at 2700 rpm and 70psi. (20W50 and with new sender unit)
