What trans fluid are you guys using???

Hey guys a long time ago on some rx7 club website I ran across info on a trans fluid that most people dont ever mention. They seemed to really like it saying it was smother than the Redline and all the other normal fluids everyone uses.

It might have been a certain synthetic Amsoil but I cant remember for sure.

Anyone know what I'm talking about or just want to contribute and tell what they have used and liked???

I first replaced mine with Redline cause it was local. Didn't feel much better then stock. Then I went to Neo and felt a difference over the Redline. Well my mechanic reccomends AmsOil so that's next.

www.BakerPrecision.com has Neo

I think you might be right, seems like it might have been neo. What weight are you guys using?

You can also get Neo at 4wheel parts... they have a location in dallas, and all over the country. But they only sell it by the quart there.

Redline MTL.

Redline MTL for me. Amsoil is good, too, from what I've heard

RX7Elmo 08-27-02 02:31 PM

i would like to add taht redline MTL is on the thin side. You want redline MT90 if anything.

The weight recommended is 75W90. I use mobil one synthetic personally.

I use standard dino gear oil. On my old TII I used Amsoil and Redline MT90. Both oils had noticably better shifting when cold (compared to dino oil) but worse when hot.

I use dino gear oil on all my FDs now. TII and FD tranny is basically the same.
