What spacers do I need for my aftermarket fuel rail?
 

I bought an RX7.com secondary fuel rail with 1600's and installed it over a year ago. I thought the kit came complete, but i quickly found out that the injectors slipped down and leaked fuel everywhere. I used some cut fuel hose to space the injector, that worked for a while until I blew my engine.

When I started to put my engine back together, i noticed the fuel hose split, and the injector was in risk of slipping down again. I bought some spacers from RX7store.net thinking this would fix my problem, but it only seems to replace the rubber spacer that came with the fuel rail.

What do i need to space or seal, or what the hell? I figured I would have gotten a complete kit, not something that could have burned my shit to the floor.

when i was there getting my fuel system installed they did have a small problem with it leaking
but reseating it a couple times to top dead center it sealed fine and i have been driving it sence.
1000 primary 1600 secondary.

I'm having a similar problem with the 20b primary rail I purchased. My solution was to leave the diffusers in and install aluminum shims on top (to form a good seal against the sides of the lower injector o-rings). With the diffusers in place, the injectors are positioned much higher so there is more overlap between the upper injector o-rings and the rail. Unfortunately the brackets (in my case) were too short. I solved that problem by adding aluminum spacers between the bracket and the mounting points on the engine. Hope that helps.

i think what I'm going to do is take the aluminum spacers back out, put the rubber ones back in, and machine myself a spacer that will sit over the silver area above the rubber spacer in the first pic. That should keep that thing from slipping down. I have access to a lathe, so things are easy. Either that or make a spacer to extend the rubber one.

upon further inspection, i removed the aluminum spacers and put the rubber ones back in. The injector will almost come completely out from the top of the rail when pushed down. So either the rail sits to high or the rubber spacer was cut too short.
