What sensors screw up boosting??

hey guys ive finally finsihed putting the car back together after the typhoon. The interior is al nice and shiny again after being submerged in water.

Anyway the engine seems to have a boosting problem. Off boost the car is normal as i was before but when I floor it and vacuum aproaches 0 it will start to misfire and smoke will come out of the exhaust!! I did hear the BOV though so it might be generating some boost.

I bought a new stock ecu for it and reseted it and its still happening. Right now its getting the oil and plugs changed. Could it be the coils?

There is a black box above the stock ecu.. does anyone know what this is?

Map sensor might have gotten damaged.

Mine did the same thing. Does a check engine light every come on for a second and then go off? I ran the code, and mine was the thermo sensor. It kept my car from knowing how rich to run, so it always ran too rich and never boosted right. I finally just took off the stock plastic hot crossover pipe, and could see the thermo sensor in the back of the water pump. It was then that I saw the plug for it wassn't in all the way. To be sure, I took out the plug, blew on it, get all the dirt and debris out of it. Pluged it back in, and the car ran like a champ. The sensor it self wassn't even bad, just a bad connection. Could be the problem, not sure though. The sensor runs around $40.00 from mazda. Good luck.

the map sensor couldnt have gotten damaged cos the water didnt get that high. It went just below the long box of fuses near the left headlight.
