Hi guys,

Went to the dyno (i'll post the dyno sheets after I scan them) to see how the car was running after the dp went on, and it seems to be pulling strong (relatively so :p). I've adjusted the pills to stay around stock boost and to help limit spiking.

Anyway, what would you guys suggest for an I/C? I've read pretty extensively and it sounds like most everyone who has a FMIC loves it and those who have a SMIC say their car doesn't overheat...any specific experience?

Along with the IC I'll probably need an ECU, what are the advantages of a standalone unit like the PFC compared to a fully tuneable piggy-back? )What kind of gains could I expect from tuning the A/F ratio's + timing?) After researching on the forum, it sounds like the PFC doesn't do a great job of controlling boost... I hate to sound like a newbie, but if I get a profec B would a manual boost controller be necessary? (maybe just as security?)

Lastly, I already have a mp, but I'm waiting to get an ECU/chip upgrade before I put it on, and that seems like that would round out the bolt-on's. Maybe I'm missing something??

I wouldn't worry about the dp giving you boost spike so you don't need to mess with the pills you should still be at stock boost. Is the dp your only mod?

I would get a front mount just because it looks cool.
Getting a front mount will also clear out a lot of space in your motor and alow for better breathing and easy access to work on. (your engine bay will look a lot emptier)

I would get a pfc just because you can tune so many more things on the spot if you have to.
I heard that the profec b works great in conrolling boost with the pfc but some people have said that on cold nights they have over boosted even with this combo. Others have under boosted or been able to control it perfect so I would take every precaution to make sure no to hurt anything.

bolt-ons would be intake, downpipe, midpipe, and catback wouldn't it? and yeah good idea wait for an ecu before the midpipe. The midpipe is the last step of the bolt ons. Most people say to get a high flow cat because of how hardcore the midpipe is. Personally I am getting a midpipe but most people I have talked to who are more conservative have tried the midpipe and went to a high flow cat.

Snook: I aalready have a cb, and intake, so the car was overboosting with the stock precontrol...

No help from any of the vetran members? All input is appreciated. :)

i was looking at your boost graph and it looks like you take a considerable SPIKE at transition. I'd really take a look at that. It couild be your precontrol is simply too big. Looks like you spike to 13 or so. I'm positive if you put that midpipe on that your spike will go up to 15 and over. This can be very bad if not controlled.

PFC is a good ecu and now has good support if you use the datalogging software as well. And yes, you can gain a lot of hp with some good fuel tuning. But always be conservative with tuning on a dyno. A hot day on a dyno vs. a cold day on the street are not the same.

I just put on an FMIC in my car. It really depends what you want. I dont' plan to road race my car thus i went this route. I do not overheat and probally run cooler than a lot of stock RX7s. I'd also invest in an aftermarket radiator the same time as a FMIC.

What kind of intake do you have? I dynoed 229 with dp and K&N drop-in without the airbox mod at about 8psi.

FMIC would cause overheating because it blocks airflow, not a SMIC. Some people do see temp increases with a FMIC so yes, also do a radiator.

The Profec B is a boost controller so a manual boost controller would not be needed. I've also heard the PFC bc sucks.

With ecu, intake, dp, mp, cb, and i/c you should be a bit over 300rwhp. Could also do a pulley, Efini y-pipe, and fuel pump.
