What is a low mile FD worth?
 

What would a clean FD with 23k miles on it go for these days? I'm thinking of selling mine but i'm not sure what it is worth as I've seen a wide range of prices out there.
Also, Should I sell it as is moded or should I put the OEM parts back on?
Mods are: 18''wheels, column mount boost gauge, HKS Turbo timer, PFC w/commander, 1300cc secondaries, m2 carbon fiber intake, m2 med IC, DP, HF cat, AST, Turbo Jeff battery holder and Racing beat cat back.

I would say no less than 18k, its only worth what someone will pay.

I'd sell the aftermarket parts and put the stock parts back on. You'll get more money that way, plus I believe "stock" FD's tend to sell for more. Atleast you'd get more money selling the car then the aftermarket stuff vs the car with the aftermarket parts.

You should be able to get close to $3k for those mods if you sell separately.

Leave them on the car and you will get nothing for them.

Blue book is close to $18k, which is probably a good baseline. If you are not in a hurry I would try for $20k-$22k and see how the market responds.

Down here in cali low milage fd run in the range from 23-30k. Since your in WA I would say put it up for some where in the low 20's would be good. Last year I sold my fd in presitine condition for $25k. There are car enthusiats out there that will pay top dollar for the right car. Good luck!

a stock 94 silver on red with 5,xxx miles sold recently on ebay for $29,300 or so.

put it back to stock and sell the aftermarket parts separate, I'll buy the pfc+comm and 1300 secondaries...

I agree make it stock again and sell the parts separately. A low mileage FD should net AT LEAST 18k here in WA cuz most FD's with 60 to 120k sell for 15k +...... I stole mine for 13.5k cuz it needed some love (cleaning) with 56k.... I've had it for 3 yrs.

Sounds like $18k min. and back to stock is the way to go. Too bad, it would be easier for me to just throw in the OEM parts as part of a $20K-ish package and let the new owner decide what he wants to do. I dunno, maybe I'll try and sell it that way first. :)

Oops, that should of read 1200cc secondaries. I also forgot to add a Cosmo pump to the mod list

Bought mine with 26k on it and paid 18k even. Oh, and it was stock. I've done the majority of the mods myself. I wasn't going to spend that much on a highly modded car. <--Didn't know enough about them to do so.

i think a lot of people are getting "stock car", mixed up with "unmolested car", people will pay a lot more for a car that hasn't been modified, that is the reason people ask for stock cars, if they didn't care about modifications they would certainly look into a modified car to the level they felt comfortable, and pay less in the long run as opposed to buying a car with the same amount of "abuse" and then spending the money on modifications after the fact...

but everyone is right, you will definitly get more money over-all by putting it back to stock and selling the mods seperate, and i agree that you shouldn't take anything lower than 18K for a car with lower miles like that, might take you a few months but you'll find a buyer :icon_tup:...

I just paid 22K for a 95 CW with 11K and feel I got my money's worth. This car is totally spotless minus a few nicks on the front lip(which will be leaving this winter)! I say put it back to stock and hold out for your price! People like me who know what this car is all about will pay the money for a stock car as long as all the service records are there. Anyways, sweet car, and what are you looking to get for the PFC and COMM?

Would you pay $30K for basically a brand new off the showroom condition FD? I would consider it.

But in the way FD's go, 30K miles means very little to me. The only way to buy is if you consider that you may have to repair a major drive train component, especially because the car is 13 years old (or less) and miles do not necessarily tell all. Given the extensive and unending history of these cars, you have to hedge your purchase somehow.

Tan interior usually kills value. Tan seats are ok but most people don't care for the tan plastics and door panels. Manual trans I hope. Automatics have very poor value. The car is not very modded, mostly reliability and a couple power mods. If you were to trade it in the extra mods probably wouln't do anything for you, except maybe the wheels. If you found a buyer who was haggling over the price you could offer to take some parts off and adjust the price.

I bought my 93 R1 with 55k mi in L.A. for $19,500.00 it was running well, but I never felt comfortable getting on it hard enough to get into the second turbo, while I was test driving it, so I bought it with a blown shaft.... on the secondaries... after I pulled it it was difficult to turn with my fingers... :(

The owner never drove it hard (middle aged woman) and so her husband claimed it was "Perfect".... so yes unmodded = percived safety margin.

That exactly what I did. I knew what I was looking for in terms of modifications and got that. :)

It's probably worth less with mods... you might consider selling them and then the sell the car for $18k

I'm still kicking around the thought of selling it. Believe it or not my wife wants me to keep it. She probably doesn't want to put with my depression after it is gone.lol

I bought my pristine 93 black fd with 19,000 miles and totally stock with no tampering 2 years ago for $15,750. I flew from Seattle to Reno to pick it up and drove it home.
