What local Stores sell Vac (Silicone) Hose by size and length?
Looking for the standard vac replacement hoses... silicone, preferrably colored....
curious if any local stores would sell the 4mm/6mm/10mm lines. (I.E. Lowe's or Home Depot) I know autozone has "kits" but that has a lot of hose that wouldn't be used. Any idea where I could pick some of this up in AZ? -Darren- |
Who sells this without having to mail order it?

Exactly

Probably the only place would be NAPA. However, I don't believe they are open on Sundays. If you have any High Performance/Rice shops in the area, they will most likely carry some.
|
NAPA is open, I just called them, but they only have standard, which I can use, but they also only sell it in packs, hrmm need it by the foot =/ Or a pack that is made for RX7's lol.
Most rice shops are only open M-F =/ |
I got mine from www.mcmaster.com they are located in southern california. They sell it by the foot and have it to you within the week.

McMaster-Carr
Actually they have warehouses in several places: NJ, Chicago, Atlanta, SoCal. They usually ship same day/overnight - it's rare to see anything take more than 2 days from them.

Be careful with those Autozone silicone hose kits. They suck ass. I bought a kit for my turboII and a few of the hoses near the turbo either melted off or melted shut. The silicone they use for those hoses isnt good for turbocharged cars. I yanked out those hoses and replaced them with good quality silicone hoses designed for high heat applications and never had a problem with them again. My friend has the autozone kit on his n/a and its still working good.
I also saw a WRX at SuperAutobacs and noticed they were using the cheapie silicone lines. Some of the hoses near the turbo were melted shut and looked just like mine. That car was a show car inside their shop. Moral of the story: Buy good silicone hose and stay away from those ricer packs at Autozone. If the kit is $30 dollars, stay away. If the kit is $100 dollars buy it. |
