The two small clear hard lines. The second picture is to show you what general area they are in.

I think I may have broke one, but I reached down and wiggled them and they seem to be solid. I would think if they were hard lines they would snap clean in two.

Oil metering pump.

those would be your omp lines matey. becareful not to break them.

OKRX-7 11-10-05 12:13 PM

It didn't break clean off, I will probably wrap it and epoxy it and watch for a leak for now.

Oil metering.

Since it looks like you have your turbos out, and the engine apart, don't be cheap and epoxy them. For around $100 you can replace them with SS lines.
It's well worth it since your engine won't last long w/o them

Yikes! Epoxy them? They're less than $30 each....all of your internal engine lubrication goes through those lines....fix it right!

dgeesaman 11-10-05 02:39 PM

Yep, I broke mine last month. Just get new lines.

Dave

trini 11-10-05 02:44 PM

just get new SS ones. even though mine has been rigged with rubber hose for over a year now , it doesnt leak but i would get SS ones if i were you. check rx7.com or ebay.

bdennis 11-10-05 03:31 PM

One of my lines broke about a year ago. You can take a guess at what happened to the inside of my engine. $1,200 later I'm up and running again. If you even think those lines are broken pull the intake manifold and check it out.

OKRX-7 11-10-05 03:50 PM

I bought the SS lines...

My wife is going to kill me before this month is over...

Welcome to the club.

patfat 11-10-05 07:52 PM

Yo, Fritz I'll take them! You'll have to help me! You own me after that f'n downpipe....

I bought bolt cutters today :)

OKRX-7 11-10-05 07:58 PM

hehe, Fritz, your killing me man, you need to start loggin on earlier!

Sgtblue 11-10-05 08:09 PM

On a side note.....Despite having the FSM and reading about the OMP, it really helps to get an idea of what/where it is, and what it looks like, from pictures. I've still got my airpump so I can even come close to seeing those on my car. Now if I ever see a leak, at least I'll have some idea.
Personally I've learned alot from the "what is this" theads.

fd3s7007 11-10-05 11:19 PM

fritz mate you got pm'ed!!

OKRX-7 11-11-05 12:58 PM

Now all I have to do is find the other end of the line. Something tells me I am going to be yanking more parts out then I want this weekend...

dgeesaman 11-11-05 01:13 PM

Heh, you'll need to pull: alternator, alternator bracket, air intake, front engine hook, vacuum chamber, UIM/TB/TB Elbow, coils and tray, and lift the rats nest. I prefer to remove the solenoids from the rats nest before removing the metal frame, others do the opposite.

It's several hours of work if you know what you're doing. Sorry, that's probably not what you wanted to hear.

i'm also installing the ss lines as we speak just wanted to know any pointers or things i should know when i put these lines on, how to put them on correctly etc etc.

OKRX-7 11-11-05 01:18 PM

Arghh, your killing me Dave. Makes me feel better about buying the SS lines, I am hard on fragile stuff. Ohh well, the car dosen't have turbo's or a transmission might as well take the top half off also.

Ohh and Scalliwag has the SS OMP lines for $60 shipped, made me feel warm and fuzzy after I spent $110 with rx7.com...

blackdemon04 11-11-05 01:47 PM

Your telling me i bought mine from the rx7store. I guess I should do more research before buying a part. Although it's still a good thing to buy for your car definitely.

dgeesaman 11-11-05 02:07 PM

The "scalliwag" lines don't look like they'll route with all the stock equipment in place. If you have all the stock accessories and solenoids, I wouldn't use those until you're sure they'll route ok.

[edit: nevermind all that ^ I was looking at the 2nd gen engine and lines by accident. As long as his lines are the same length as the other stainless lines, I say go for it]
