What kind of Pre mix oil do you use????
I am looking for some brands of pre mix oil. How about 2 stroke?
I have always used Marvel's Mystery Oil. I add around 4 Oz. to a tank. I have heard that Pettit offers a pre-mix but you have to order that from them, where as you can get Marvel's almost anywhere.
I use Valvoline Marine 2-Stroke or, if I can find it, Castrol Synthetic 2-Stroke. I add 4 oz. to a tank before refueling.
is that 4oz everytime you run it almost empty? or does it matter? i just figured over time if you never ran your tank closer to empty before adding premix you would end up with more oil trhan gas at some point. does that make sense?
pettits protek-r, best stuff out there
I use castrol 2 stroke, I only premix when I pump up a full tank. But when the gas is crazy expensive, i usually go 20 liters no premix then i'll prolly dump in 1~2 ounce the next time I pump quarter tank...
protek R here, 4oz per tank full
Anytime I get below a 1/4 of a tank I fill up with 94 octane and 4 oz. of Marvel's. Before I had my engine rebuilt it smoked a bit on startup and using that got rid of it. I have heard it is good preventative maintenance and it seems to help on cold startups as well.

I really want to start pre-mixing but I cant bring myself to dump oil in my gas tank(weird uh). Wont it slow down the fuel pump and also clog the fuel filter? If it doesnt clog the fuel filter wouldnt it overall slow down the process of fuel going from tank to engine?
i use synthetic polaris jetski 2cycle oil, supposely same thing pettit sells.
4oz every full tank. |

i just started using quicksilver premium 2 cycle outboard oil, (found it at Kmart one night). it seems to have made my engine have a little more torque in the lower rpms and my engine seems to beable find its idle and stop hunting a little sooner then usual.
good luck |

What about Yamaha oil injection mix for snowmobiles?
It is a high quality oil but is for oil injection motors, I would think it will blend well with gas? Any ideas?? |
Hey guys, there is some special oil metering pump available for our cars that'll let you use 2 stroke oil and not have to premix. it adds anothertank that connects to the new OMP and brings in the 2 stroke instead of the 4 stroke oil. so you don't have to worry about any fuel lines or pump issues, or pre-mix amounts for that matter.
for everyday driving 4oz of Marvel's also...stuff is cheap as hell too.

ok i am lost, does the car run any better with oil in the gas. I am use to doing this on my dirtbike but this is alittle crazy. I never thought that you could do this on the 7. who wants to enlighten someone like me who knows nothing about this! thanks

adding a product like protek-r to your gas reduces overall wear and tear on your rotors and housing prolonging the life of your motor. this is especially beneficial on cold start ups where lubrication of the internal parts is at its minimum. this way as soon as gas reaches the combustion chamber, bam, uve got lube.
i highly recommend that you use a specific product such as protek-r due to the fact that 2-stroke oil and gas do not mix well. all the rotary specific gas additives dissolve very well in gasoline and donot "slow-down" or damage anything. |
so i can just buy this stuff and add the proper amount every now and then and it will work fine?
Anyone have any experiences with the above mentioned Oil Metering Pumps?? I kinda like the idea, but am cautious!
