hey guys, well i was looking at cars and i have yet to find out what kind of cars got these style seats, and what are these seats called lol? i really like them alot

RotaryEvolution 09-09-06 04:13 PM

for some reason those look like FC seats, maybe re-upholstered?

pretty damn crappy picture btw.

D4rw1n 09-09-06 04:23 PM

They appear to be the base model FD cloth seats, not sure of the model number though. Come to think of it, I’ve never seen an FD with cloth seats. I guess they didn't produce a lot of cars with this option.

Sgtblue 09-09-06 04:50 PM

Those are the "Base" model seats. And I agree they do look good and probably wear better than the others. Cloth seats also came in the R1/R2 models.... Faux suede.

McBride61 09-09-06 04:51 PM

They look like my cloth seats :-D

KeloidJonesJr. 09-09-06 04:53 PM

It's a level down from bucket seats. These ones recline, right?

a68birdls1 09-09-06 05:04 PM

suede that was the word lol. yea i have been looking everywhere to see another fd with them, and i am guessing that they were not used that much. but this is the car that i am gojng to buy pretty soon. just a roller...

Karack...

i didnt think it was that bad.. are you refering to te quality of the pic or the angle of the seats?

seven lust 09-09-06 05:22 PM

yes for sure these would be the base model seats... and are pretty damn sweet I think.... I would chose these over the leather any day....

yuichiror 09-09-06 05:37 PM

Yup, base model seats. I have a friend whose FD has them. They're actually very nice and alot more comfortable and more durable than my leather seats.

:bigthumb: I think so too.

a68birdls1 09-09-06 05:42 PM

thats what i was thinking, they just look like they would last longer, and i cant wait to find out how comfortable they are lol!

RotaryEvolution 09-09-06 05:55 PM

referring to the angle of the pic so you could see the full view.

a68birdls1 09-09-06 06:34 PM

yea i know that was not the best for telling what kind of seats they are, but it is all that i had lol.

NeedFD 09-09-06 06:35 PM

+1 on the base seats, my friend has them

fdpocketrocket 09-09-06 07:00 PM

+1, very comfy. I wish I could score a pair of them so I can put them in my touring.

*RX007* 09-09-06 07:07 PM

ive only seen them on 1 fd before...

chinaman 09-09-06 08:57 PM

Yes, these seats are very rare. I had a set in my first FD. The pattern kinda looks like carbon fiber. I think these are the best looking seats they had in the FD

PDViper77 09-09-06 09:30 PM

They are base seats, I know because I have them in my 93 Base 7.

DMoneyRX-7 09-09-06 09:34 PM

ya i love those seats. i would take some of those for my r1's

mibad 09-09-06 09:55 PM

I like the suede seats in the R1. If I ever replace them I think I'd go for the micro suede Corbeau.

EjCabrera 09-09-06 09:59 PM

wow reading this thread made my day feel better. i liked these seats and i never saw anyone on the forum complimenting these. i never knew my car was a base model until now

Crymson 09-09-06 10:06 PM

+ 1 on the basemodel seats. If i had a camera that worked i would take a picture of mine.

Definatley base model cloth seats.

chinaman 09-10-06 08:06 AM

Was just checking out the pic again and, man you better not park that car on a hill in neutral! ADJUST THAT E-BRAKE!!

FD Rey 09-10-06 08:26 AM

Base seats are the best :) Glad I kept them and swapped them into my touring.

RZ/Spirit-R Recaros -> Alcantara (pseudo-suede) -> cloth -> leather

I'm surprised anyone would pick cloth over alcantara, if they've actually tried both. Admitedly, the alcantara (like suede) can be hard to keep looking clean.

Leather is, IMO, out of place in an FD.

the car is sitting in a garage with the engine out of it, and has been there for the past 2 or so years. so not to worried about it lol. and you dont need to use the ebrake, just put that sucker in first, it wont roll.

so is there a way to tell how many cars have them? because you hardly ever see them in the for sale section.
