What The Hell Is This!!!!!!!!!!
Ok i need help here bad, i just had a new o.e.m aftermarket clutch put in 3 monthes ago, and now i feel that its slipping. Ok this is what happens, when i'am in gear and i press on the pedal slightly, my revs climb very quickly with not much foot on the gas, and the speedometer is not even going at the same rate as the revs are going up, there climbing at a slower rate then the revs are climbing up, i'am only tapping the pedal, but when i'am in a stop to go the clutch grabs very good, what is causing the revs and the engine to speed up with not much rise on the speedometer, does something need to be adjusted on the clutch, or is it a goner????

If you press the pedal in slightly while in gear and giving it gas at the same time it will start to disengage the clutch and act like it is slipping.

sounds like slippage to me. When was the new clutch installed? Also, did you break in the clutch correctly? bc if you didnt, thats what usually leads to premature clutch failure.
|
Have you checked to see if you are leaking from the rear main seal or the front tranny seal? Oil from either of these 2 sources could also cause slippage.
|
Check to see if your RPMs drop slightly but abruptly when you slowly back off the gas. That would be your clutch grabbing again if it happens.
|
Also what clutch. OEM aftermarket? It's either OEM or aftermarket.
|
If it's one of those 15% more holding power over stock clutchs, there aren't all that great. I put one in my car before to save $$ and started slipping in no time.

It sounds like your bolts holding the pressure plate to the flywheel may have loosened. If they were not torqued properly, you would notice a decrease in clamping and an increase in slippage. Oil can do this/grease can do this, the flywheel or pressure plate is glazing over, etc.
Best to remove it to find out what is wrong. Tim PS aftermarket OEM equivalent would be the correct term. |
Thanks so much for your help guys i havent solved the problem but i really appreciate you guys giving me help i know i can count on you bros!!!!!!!!!

put it in either 2nd in the city or 4th on the expressway...get a nice flat stretch of land. Stomp on it and run it all the way up to redline....if the car starts to vibrate and you stop accelerating then you are slipping. Mine is doing this and did last night :( Got to get a replacement.
