What happened to my car?

Hi guys I had a problem that I hope you can help me with.

I parked my car in November. I made a few changes but nothing major. I did remove a FMIC and put in a SMIC. So as you know the radiator had to be put back in the original location and new hoses were required. So here is what happened.

I started the car and it ran fine. However when it warmed up it started spweing coolant from the overflow resevior.

I do not feel the coolant seal was bad because it was fine when I parked it.

Question? Has been down to 2-4 degrees this week. Now I had lots of antifreeze in the car and I really don't think the coolant was frozen. However I do not know how to explain what was happening.

I am concerned that all was fine however if the coolant was frozen that the car was fine however when the coolant would not flow the coolant seal then went out? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Please, Please give ideas.

Thanks

Do you mean the AST? The little black tank that attached to the backside of a SMIC?

Well if it was spewing from the overflow tank, I'd think you have a crack in the tank itself or one of the hoses leading to or from it.

Have you done a visual inspection of the coolant system to check and see?

You might have just put in too much coolant when you refilled. Does your low coolant level buzzer turn on?

You guys are fast

It was not from the AST it was from the coolant resevior.
I will do a check of the resevior tonight.

Tomorrow I will list what I find. I will also try to refill and start again.

Thanks you guys for your help. You sure were fast. I appreciate that.

Allan
