what is a good clutch to get for your fd that will last long?? how long do clutches usually last? i have an exedy clutch? how long do they usually last? or what other clutches are good that last long?

Hi! It really depends on how you drive and the kind of driving you're into.
However, imo, if you really want a very good clutch, i'll go for a carbon one (very expensive though).

how much power u wanting to put down? otherwise a stock oem one will last a long time. but if ur going for a load of power then it depends how much were talkin.

well.. i just need it to last long. not really for racing. but i still need that power tho.. and i drive fast.. and how much would a good clutch that last long would be?? and what kind?

I used to to have a 6 puck unsprung hub ACT Clutch in my old FC a long while ago. That was a heavy, excessive clutch. But, i learned to drive a little better on it, and it was durable.

If all you're doing is spirited driving in a moderately modified car, go for an ACT street/strip clutch. Driving a puck clutch on the street can be a huge pain to get used to.

and yes it does depend on your drivin habit, and *drivin fast* doesnt describe much, but in general, if you want a long lastin clutch, get heavy ones that says *heavy duty* in its description, and a racing clutch ( stage 3 + ) would probably suit you better but will be a bitch to get used to for street drivin

i hate when people say this shit...like there are no other comparable options.

exedy makes much higher quality clutches than act but you def get what you pay for. exedy twin plate clutches start at around $1300 but can withstand alot more torque than the act street strip and still feel alot smoother than stock.

theres also the centerforce duel friction clutch. its the same price as the act street strip clutch but is designed a little different. this clutch also feels alot smoother than the stock clutch. its what i presently have and its great.

theres no doubt the act street strip clutch is a good choice, but its not the only one

ACT street sport disc with Heavy duty pressure plate....rated at like 400Hp...long lasting and decent pricing...a little firmer pedal feel but not terrible....OEM clutch is still a decent clutch for those cars though.....how much power does this car have???

Do we really need another "what clutch" thread? We went through all this crap no more than a few months ago. The options haven't changed...

how much will the oem clutch hold anyways? ive seen people pushin 300whp with um.. but never heard of anyone say hey it will hold this much etc cause ive done it and whatever ya know!?

The "Search" tab at the top of the page will do that for you ;-) A lot of times people will get rather annoyed at common questions which can be answered by a little search.

That said: You haven't given the members here much information to go on regarding what clutch would be best for you. The available options range from a brand new replacement stock Clutch (about $350 depending on where you buy it) which is good for your basic mods, all the way up to a $1,500+ Exedy Twin plate good for 500ft/lb.

It all depends on your power level (Clutches limits are based off of Torque, not HP) and application.

A little bit of research goes a long way.
