What Gauges Do You Guys Recomend?
 

I really like Apex gauges cause of the playback feature and the blue color. Although they only come in 60mm. I wanted to get the pod for the dash from Rx7store but they only hold 52mm. I want to stick with the same brand for all my gauges. Eventually I want to get gauges for the A pillar. So now that you know the problem I was wondering if anyone had suggestions or have gauges they recomend. What gauges should I put in first. I figured boost and water temp. My car is stock. Help me out guys.

I personally wouldn't bother with a water temp gauge. If you really want a better water temperature reading, you can modify the stock one.

I would recommend a boost gauge and either a Air/Fuel or EGT gauge.

As for the 60mm guages, you can dremel out the 52mm A-pillar gauge pods to fit 60mm gauges.

I have Defi. They come in 52mm and 60mm. They have playback, peak hold, warning light, and link in a daisy chain.

I like my Blitz guages, the green matches my dash gauges. I only have the boost and EGT gauge. I
use my PFC for the rest which is also in green.. DAMN thats a lot of green....

I can just take the autometer pod and dremel it out to fit the 60mm. Is their any other companies that make dual or triple pods to fit the 60mm.
How about a company that makes custom ones?

You can dremel out most 52mm gauge pods to fit 60mm gauges but you also have to watch out for the mounting depth of the 60mm gauges; some of them are a not only larger diameter but also thicker. I have a mechanical APEX'i boost gauge and it works fine.

Not to be mean 2 the guys that are sayin search.. But u guys are bein asses 2 this guy.. I assure you that if we all said search to the questions that were always asked there would only be maybe 1 or 2 new ones a day or less.. This is a forum not yahoo....

i installed 2 greddy 52mm gauges on my pillar, an EGT gauge and a boost gauge. they dont quite match perfectly but from a lot of people ive talked to and personal experience, theyre extremely accurate and reliable, and dont malfunction down the line like certain other gauges.

Thanx for clearing that up since your such an expert JSPEC I should just ask you all my questions. CAuse either you know alot or you know nothing

You are right. That is a good point. However, if you look at the first link I posted, the thread is dated 04/23/02. That's a little over a month ago. I don't think companies develop brand new products in one month.

And I DO just pass over the shit I don't want to read. I click on MAYBE 15-20% of the threads in any given section. And I only go in about 5-6 different sections. But there are some things that just DONT need to be covered again, and again, and AGAIN. Things like, "Hey, what gauges do I need?", "V8 in an RX-7?", "Which is better, an RX-7 or a Supra?", "Should I buy this RX-7 with 135,000 miles and the original motor which blows smoke all the time and eats coolant for $9000?".

It get's old.

Hey, everybody that's complaining about people not searching enough... Nobody's forcing you to read repeated topics, usually the topic titles give a pretty accurate indication of what the thread is about. If you see "V8 in an RX7" or "RX7 vs Supra" there's an easy solution for you - just don't read it. Either post and be helpful, or use your powers of reason and avoid topics you think are repeated too often. The only thing I find more annoying than over repeated topics are how everyone uses them as an excuse to jump in and bitch about over repeated topics! :)

Argh. Okay, first off I wasn't complaining to the guy who started this thread about not searching. I saw this thread (which I have seen numerous times), saw that this guy only had a handful of posts (obviously a newbie, maybe he doesn't know about the search function?) and directed him to search. Then he came back saying this was searching. Posting a question isn't searching. Now I knew he really didn't know how to use the search function.

So, I took the time to make up some fucking pictures to make it easy on the guy. I even did the damn search for him, and posted the links. Yes, I was a little (maybe too much? Are we sensitive in here?) sarcastic, but I wasn't trying to be MEAN, I was trying to help the guy out. If I wanted to just be mean, I would have simply said, "JUST FUCKING CLICK THE SEARCH BUTTON YOU FUCKING IDIOT". But I didn't do that, did I?

But no, then people had to get on MY case for helping the guy out and TEACHING him how to use the search function.

I can't remember, what was this post about again, Searching or Gauges...

You know, I posted that reply because now if anyone else has this question, AND they search, this thread would come up...and since GotBoosted7 DID search and put all the relevent threads on ONE post, that all they would have to do it click the different threads so that they can make their decision.

I have had experience with the GREDDY/Blitz/Apexi/Defi/HKS gauges(I'm talking personal experience as in I tried ALL of these) and have found that the Defi gauges are indeed the best priced gauges interms of installation and lighting.

And test my knowledge of Rotary's/Automobiles...PLEASE DO...

Okay, when rebuilding a 13B-REW, what is the MAX clearance in between the rotor bearing and the eccentric shaft rotor journal? :D:D:D
