What is everyone getting for gas milage?

Just a question.
I put in 48$ thursday and i went to get gas today, complaining about my gas mileage i decide to check my milage and mpg.
i drove 330 miles since thursday ( i drive a lot on the weekends)
and i got 16.5 gallons of gas thursday (GAS PRICES SUCK)

i went out friday and cruised for a couple hours,
saturday i upped the boost to 12 psi and went out and raced for a couple hours.

the rest has been me keeping my rpms low and at 9 psi

20 mpg, not to shabby.

if gas was 2$ a gallon i would like it more

purerx7 05-03-06 12:03 PM

im getting 11mpg, exhaust intake downpipe and 11psi. This is on easy driving, if i really get into it i get around 7-8mpg. I think i need to change my fuel filter.

Should try staying over here - equivalent to $135 for a tank at the moment, and heading in the wrong direction.

As mpg is different on this side of the water I'll stick to tanks - on long runs off boost I've been seeing around 350miles to a tank (full until the light comes on) recently, under mixed driving around 250, on track it's well below 100 miles from a tank.

I have 1200cc injectors and the supra fuel pump, put down a bit over 300rwhp, run 12.8@110 and get 15mpg pretty consistently. 13 to 18 is the range.

Typically I see about 21 on the freeway 16-17 city. mods below

DrunkenBowler 05-03-06 01:56 PM

I see around 25 mpg combined highway/city.

seanbrowning 05-03-06 02:17 PM

Wow, nice drunken. I don't get that in any car I own :(

level7 05-03-06 02:40 PM

I have seen 25mpg on the freeway, but never in the city. Drops down to about 16mpg. Mods below

superfastrx7 05-03-06 02:41 PM

Who cares... just keep adding fuel. Buy a Honda if you want to get goom mpg. I average under 20 in the city and over 20 hyw

I've got a DD civic that gets 35-40 mpg. 25 mpg comes from a rebuilt motor, new fuel filter, plugs and wires, non-sequential and no boosting, tuning, and mostly highway miles.

Dezigns 05-03-06 03:30 PM

13 mpg here.. running rich and could probably lean it off a bit though ;)

bheiman 05-03-06 04:16 PM

i thought 20 mpg was good with what i have done

4.77 gears, 255 fp, 3inch, fmic, non sequential, boost controller

i cruise on the highway at 60 mph at 3000 rpms

afterburn27 05-03-06 04:51 PM

I have seen 27mpg highway and I can easily get into the single digits when dirving hard.

fsae_alum 05-03-06 05:07 PM

I did 10 mpg last week and it sucks. That was gettig on it pretty hard in city driving. Comlpetely stock exept for downpipe and K&N drop in.

bajaman 05-03-06 05:16 PM

New engine is only getting about 11 mpg. Old engine got around 17. You've gotta pay for power....lol!

As is usual with these threads (of which there are too many already), I call into serious question some of these mpg figures.

Several times before, it was determined that people were claiming 20 mpg by hitting 200 miles on their trip ODO by 1/2 a tank (as indicated by the fuel gauge).

black93RX7 05-03-06 05:25 PM

8-10 mpg city, 12-14 hwy

HP isn't cheap!

EZFD 05-03-06 05:31 PM

before the new fuel setup, i was getting 12 city/16 hwy, now i could only imagine what it would be maybe 10 and 13.

veilsidei 05-03-06 08:48 PM

well they were rated 17mpg city 25 highway. on stock setup i found the sticker from when my dad bought the car. and a bunch of other stuff. to bad jim marshes rotary field went down the drain :(.

rotoober 05-03-06 11:20 PM

Just checked mine by the odo-meter and 2 fill-ups - back and forth to work (mostly freeway - no traffic - no racing) 20mpg on the nose. The best I've ever got was about 23.
On a track day, averaged about 8!
I've got all the bolt-ons, boost controler set @ 11.5, pfc with base/mod map. and the wideband is at 11.8 under full boost.

weetbix13 05-03-06 11:27 PM

pitiful in town.
good(ish) on the open road.

too much fun to care... i only worry about compression, not the fuel that i use to have it.

Yea I definitely did not do that......lol

BobfisH 05-04-06 02:08 AM

jesus, $2 a gallon?! we pay like $9 a gallon in the UK for fucks sake! STOP MOANING

nicad2 05-04-06 02:13 AM

I just bought my FD in November and finished the rebuild in January. Here are the fuel economy numbers for EVERY tank from breakin to now. There is a direct correlation between efficiency going down and getting more boost :)

Tank 0 19.00 mpg No boost, new engine
Tank 1 16.98 mpg
Tank 2 16.28 mpg
Tank 3 14.16 mpg
Tank 4 15.34 mpg
Tank 5 16.58 mpg
Tank 6 12.91 mpg Breakin complete... full 10psi boost!
Tank 7 12.60 mpg

Average 15.48 mpg
