What do you use?

Might be a stupid question, but what kind of polish or cleaning agent do you use on rubber/ plastic parts in the engine bay (i.e. black magic, mothers, armor all)? I want to clean the engine bay up a little, but wasn't sure if there is any potential risk for a fire hazard. Thanks for any help.

What do you mean clean your engine bay? To clean the bay you just use a citrus cleaner, but if you want to make it look good you can use armor all on the plastic parts in the engine bay

I just did this yesterday...I use a citrus based cleaner (from Autozone) to clean...To make everything look fresh and shiny I used Meguir's rubber/vinyl spray. I followed this web site
http://autopia.org/forum/guide-detai...detailing.html . Has great info for car care. Be sure to cover major electrical components.

Thanks for the help. Armor All wont catch fire if you drive the car will it?

I've always used armorall, and I've never had a problem. Just did this yesterday

Armor-all on the big plastic pieces...airbox etc. But once or twice a year I use a little Armor-all tire foam. I don't go crazy, and a little careful around the belts. Does the same thing, but quicker and I can get it into tight places, fender wells etc. that I can't get to otherwise.

Thanks again
