What do you guys suggest
This past spring I bought a 93' RX7. The only problem with the car when I bought it was a high idle, and a few oil drips. I determined that the high idle was caused from a leaking LIM gasket. So I replaced the gasket and in the process replaced all of the vacuum hoses. Well the idle has pretty much been fixed but now I am only getting about 5psi of boost and the car seems to make a strange noise under acceleration. I am pretty sure that is has something to do with the vacuum hoses or a boost leak. I have not had hardly any time to work on the car in the past two month, and now I need to sell it due to financial changes.
My question is, should I pay someone to fix the car before I sell it, or should I try to sell it as is? How difficult is it going to be to sell a car with a boost problem? On top of that, which is going to cost me more? Thanks for any advice. |
Well a boost leak shouldnt be to hard to find. And cost only depends on who you have in the area to work on it. Now a vacuum problem is just annoying. That really depends on the person buying it if they want to keep it original or not.

Is the five psi on the primary or secondary? Maybe you pinched a hose putting your intake extension back on. Mahjik posted a link to a boost problem troubleshooting guide about a week ago. PM him and he can get you the link.

If that weird noise is a wooshing sound, like air being blown, check the couplings between the turbos and intercooler.

Yup because you may think its a vacuum hose just like someone I know *hint hint* ^ |
fix it first then sell it so you can get more money for it...
