Personally, I'd rather get it Jethot coated. Not only do they coat the entire intake inside and out, but the coating effect gives it a polish texture to it almost like getting a polish job on the intake. All I have to say is that I actually felt a differance from it.

After polishing a lot of stuff on my car, I am now sending it to TTT. It is hard work.
But if you want to do it yourself, and if you have the time, it is very cheap and straightforward to do. Get the supplies from Eatswood (http://www.eastwoodco.com). They sell an aluminum polishing starter kit that has most of what you need. Some pics of the A-arms I did: http://www.ScuderiaCiriani.com/rx7/a-arms.jpg |
Daniel,
Sweet engine bay. I am doing the blue accent pieces too. But it is still mostly stock until I assemble it all. Polishing was the big hold-up, so now that I am sending stuff to TTT, it should go together soon. |
Polishing instructions on my site. Go to How-to --> Misc --> Polishing.
Cheers, Steve http://www.ScuderiaCiriani.com/rx7 |
Thanks Steve. I was about 5 mins into doing the first piece myself, then I was like - 'forget this!' :) Then I remembered TTT had his little worker elves that did pretty darn good work hehe.

I use wet/dry sandpaper and then Tripoly and White Rouge on a buffing wheel. It's time consuming but well worth it.
BTW Daniel, I kinda forgot about the Security light. PM me your address if you still want it. It get it right in the mail. Sorry, Dave |

Originally posted by fdracer what about using those compounds but w/o a buffing wheel. will it still turn out good if i just hand buff with a rag using the tripoli and white rouge? If you want something you can use by hand go with "Mothers Mag wheel polish" and "Semichrome" |
Yea I know the stock AST is still equiped.
I'm going to change it soon. At least I keep saying that... |
You can just buy a 4" buffing wheel that you can use with your basic hand drill. I did. I think mine came out pretty good. Although, not a perfect as TTT's work.
