what to do???

Just wanted to hear your thoughts on something. Should I go with a Staged Upgrade, or part-by-part? My ultimate goal is 500rwhp. No fancy-shmancy body work or anything like that, just performance.

Don't get me wrong, I like what most people do to their cars, body-wise, I'm just not gonna shoot for that right away.

Anyways let me know which direction you'd go.

go for the stage 5 upgrade from the rx7store. i think the kit is capable of those numbers you want.

That's alot of freaking hp on these cars! You can't just bolt on 500hp without blowing the motor. That's gonna be a 300rwhp difference you're jumping into.

I suggest doing part by part and learning the cars capabilities as it gets faster.

If you gonna do 500hp and go single, you better have the money and expertise to do it.

Since there aren't any rotory shops in Iowa, I would suggest going by stages or part by part. This way, if you screw something up, you can identify the problem a little easier. Also, do you need the car as a transportation? Doing everything or even part by part will take a while to get it up to 500 hp.

Honest, if you really want 500 hp, you should probably consider getting a Z06 or something.

Well actually, the original plan was to design it as a getaway car (that's our little secret...);) . Yeah, I know I'd have to take it easy with the motor, the first thing I'm gonna do is get the 3mm street port done (can't find any info on it for some reason).

I could just do it part by part, that would obviously be the safest way, being able to identify the problems like you said DJ.

Earlier today one of my buddies and I were talking about it, he said 'just drop a skyline motor in'... hmm, so that got me thinking...

anyways, thanks for the help. more info when i get started

no no no.... dont ruin the rotary car by throwing in a beast of an engine in. if you want to do that get a supra or import a skyline, or just get some junk domestic and drop a big ass engine in and build the hell out of it. that will be a getaway car.
