What did mazda do....?

I have a question... Did mazda do anything to the later FD engines ( say the 99 model) to make the engine more reliable? Different Apex seals or anything? Ive been wondering that for a while, or is it the same design exactly of the 93-95's here.

Horrible thought. When our ECUs where programmed, we were all playing ZELDA on Nintendo. I feel old.

The eccentric shaft has the clearance metals.
Till 99, it doesn't.
Then, after99 motor, with modified turbine,
has better response and more reliability.
