?WHAT counter weight+engine part interchange?

Ok time to show off your smarts-

I need to know the approximate weights of the fd manual front counterweight and the series 5 turbo manual front counterweight. Or a way to tell them apart.

Im repairing a seized engine and need to replace the eccentric shaft. The front main bearing was fused to the shaft, the inner thrust bearing was flattened and there are some groves on the rear face of the center housing near what look like the oil control ring traces. Any ideas on what happened to the motor? The rest of the internals are undamaged. The oil pressure gauge was pegged from the first time the motor ran. I assumed it was a problem with the gauge. stupid.

This motor is comprised of fd rotors, fd rotor housings, kouki fc middle and side housings. a kouki fc turbo front cover and flywheel. I believe it had an kouki fc e-shaft, before it was lost.

I was told by mazdaspeed that i could use the e-shaft and main bearings from the rx-8. Does anyone know if this is compatible with the rest of the parts in the motor. like the stationary gears? housings? are the front thrust bearings the same?

Also in order to replace the losr bearing I need a way to calculate the front main bearing clearance. The old front main bearing is fused to the shaft so i cant use it to measure the difference in diameter of the e-shaft o.d. and bearing i.d. Should i just buy a bearing, press it into the gear, and determine the clearance from there? I would hate to waste money on something that won't likely be the right size, any other ideas?

also, is the kouki fc turbo flywheel compatable with the fd rotors? And again which counterweight to use fd or kouki fc turbo?

Important note on counterweights: The front and rear (or flywheel) counterweights PLUS the rotors make a balanced assembly. The years / rotors we list in the following charts are for PRODUCTION years of the rotors / counterweights! A lot of mixing can be done when building engines, providing the rotors and counterweights match. By this we mean 89-92 non-turbo rotors (lighter weight, higher compression) can be used in an 84-85 13B engine as long as the matching front and rear counterweights are used also, for instance.

Balancing of the assembly is normally not needed, as long as the components are matched.

I don't know as far as telling them apart I haven't really messed with fc's..

I believe (IMO) your bearing went out prob due to lack of oil in the front cover for some reason( been told o ring) and spun a bearing, now to save you from my past issue don't by a bearing till you get a new shaft cause each can very a bit and may end up to lose/tight.
Also should check the front gear itself it maybe be trash...

As for using rx8 parts mazdatrix say you can.
