What clutch for ~450 rwhp?
 

I am working on saving up for a greddy t78 and want to know what clutch I need for around 450 rwhp. Will the act strip/street clutch work or will I need the 4 or 6 puck? Please help me out here, thanks.

I would go ACT extreme pressure plate and 6 puck. In choosing which clutch... It all depends if you drive more on the streets and less in the strip or vice versa. Just my .02 cents.

You can go with the Cusco single plate clutch. They're suppose to be smooth yet handle lots of horsepower.

you need to be a man! I drive the xtreme plate/6 puck...daily drive :) hahah my left leg is larger than my right :D. It is quite harsh but smoothness can be achieved. But I'm changing it out for an Exedy 3 puck w/sprung center, easier to drive and the 6 puck is way too much for the HP I'm making now.

If that's the case, my Mazdaspeed twin plate clutch makes me a true man then. :D I daily drive that thing also.

what about the act 4 puck then...will that handle what I am looking for but still give me some daily driving abilities??? thanks for the help guys

A street strip will be fine! Your car will handle it perfectly!

nope, twin plate is a little easier to drive than the ACT 6 puck. Mainly because the MS one still has one clutch plate that has a sprung center so it gives it some slippage when you take off. It is made to spec of Mazdaspeed which is known to make sports parts so their stuff will always be less extreme. As for pedal feel of the MS, you are the MAN :D

It is really an on or off situation with the 6 puck.

I think I heard 4 is harder to drive than 6...only a rumor I heard you will have to find out for yourself. Both 4 and 6 hold 577lb of torque
