What Bushing is this??

Today I am doing my 6 pillow ball bushing, and when I loosened up the "I arm", I noticed that this thing has a LOT of Freeplay!! Idk what kinda bushing this is. Does this bushing also affect clunking noises in the rear and should I replace it while im here?

it's the lower control arm bushing....

but this bushing has a function; you can adjust toe in/toe out by rotating that nut

That bushings adjusts camber only. The toe links adjust toe in/out. The lower control arm bushing is actually a pillowball. There aren't any aftermarket replacements and replacing them is more difficult than the rest.

That isn't a pillowball bushing circled, it's a big rubber bushing. It's up there on the list of bushings to replace. I think you can get the replacement from Superpro and deep-six that dude.

My only concern is.... How much is this bushing supposed to move? mine moves up, down, and side to side very easily is this normal and would it also cause clunking in the rear? I mean if its normal then ok but I really have no idea how it supposed to feel

IIRC that bushing must be replaced from Mazda, the aftermarket kits do not come with it.

How many miles are on it? If there is that much movement it probably needs replacing.

The car has 90,000 miles. I am replacing my 6 pillow balls in the rear, 4 toe link bushings, and 2 trailing arm bushings. The car has 90,000 miles. Honestly I would rather not replace that bushing unless it is directly related to rear end clunking. Would it cause a clunking if the lower control arm bushing is worn?

Funny, I dissassembled my rear suspension today in preparation for the pillowball replacement and was wondering the exact same thing about the bushing you are asking about. I was going to see how expensive they were and go from there...

I got mine from Ray at Malloy, they weren't too crazy expensive.

With that kind of mileage, I'd definitely replace them.
